    Tina Dugger Greene, age 96, of 184 Old Draft Road, Butler, TN, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2004 at her residence. Tina was born July 29, 1908, to the late J.A. and Iva Lee Tester Dugger. She was the oldest surviving member of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Spurgeon Greene, three sisters: Bonnie Wilson, Reta Wolfe, and Mollie Stanton; and four brothers: L.R. Dugger, Fred Dugger, Mark Dugger, and Norman Dugger.

    Survivors include one daughter, Tina L. Bright; four sons: Darrell and wife Ola Mae, John D. and wife Betty, Roy, and Bobby Greene; two special grandchildren whom she helped raise: Kevin and Shannon Greene; seven other grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend: Teresa Bunton; and two special Hospice nurses: Pam Bunting, and Sandra Blevins.

    Funeral Services for Tina Greene, will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Douglas Ranshaw and Rev. Ray Greene to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Sugar Grove Trio.
    Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2004, from the Dry Hill Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be: Johnny Stanton, Bobby Stanton, Timmy Stanton, John Wagner, Tim Greene, and Mack Holloway.
    Honorary Pallbearers will be: David Greene, Dennis Greene, Shane Greene, Michael Bright, Gary Bunton, Arthur Greene, Earl Dugger, Lloyd Wilson, Harold Stanton, and William H. Arnold.

    Tina married Charles Spurgeon Greene about 1926. Charles (son of Rev. David A. Greene and Salina Isaacs) was born on 25 Apr 1905 in , Watauga County, North Carolina, North Carolina; died on 19 Mar 1966 in , Avery County, North Carolina, ; was buried in Dry Hill Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tennessee.     Mr. Darrell, J. Greene, 81, of 1684 Draft Road, Butler, Tenn., passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at Mountain Home VA Center, following a brief illness.

    He was born March 14, 1927 in Bakersville, N.C.

    Mr. Greene was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church, Chairman of the Deacon Board, choir director, and he sang soprano for the Sugar Grove Quartet for 40 years. He was an Army veteran and retired from Burlington Industries in 1986. He was a farmer and loved gardening.

    Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ola Mae Greene; one daughter, Lois Greene and husband, Kenneth, of Vilas, N.C.; one son, Arthur Greene and wife, Daphne, and one grandson, Timothy Greene and wife, Laura, all of Butler, Tenn.; three brothers, John David Greene and wife, Betty Lou; and Roy Greene and Bobby Greene; and one sister, Loetta Bright, all of Butler, Tenn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles S. Greene and Tina Dugger Greene.

    Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, from Sugar Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Greene, the Rev. Doug Ranshaw and the Rev. Ray Sorrels officiating. Music was provided by Sugar Grove Choir and Willow Valley Choir.

    Graveside service and interment followed at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Darrell married Ola Mae Anderson about 1948. Ola (daughter of Donald Anderson and Flossie (Anderson)) was born on 12 Jun 1928 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died on 7 Jul 2010 in , Watauga County, North Carolina, North Carolina; was buried in Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tennessee.     BUTLER - Mr. John David Greene, age 88, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Waters of Roan Highlands following an extended illness.

    John David was born in Bakersville, North Carolina to the late Charles Spurgon and Tina Dugger Greene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Darrell Greene and Roy Greene and two grandsons, Keith Smith and Freddie Greene.

    John David lived most of his life in Johnson County, Tennessee where he worked as a farmer, carpenter and logger. He loved being outdoors with his dogs. John David enjoyed the company of family and friends and discussing the Bible with them. He loved his church, Hope Christian Fellowship and all its members. He knew his Bible and loved talking about it and God's love.

    John David was a United States Navy Veteran.

    Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty Lou McCloud Greene, two sons, David Greene and wife Debbie and Dennis Greene and significant other, Mandy Garland, daughters, Dolores Stovall and Denise Embree Whitney and husband Scott; grandchildren, Kristy Smith, Shane Greene, Miranda Shell, Amanda Burleson, Zachary Greene, Seth Embree, Sean Embree, adopted grandchildren, Candy McNab and Carrie Brown, great grandchildren, Jordan Isaacs, Jake Isaacs, Casen Shell, Conor Burleson and Carson Burleson, step grandchildren, Chris Pennington, Cindy Kern, Mindy Phillips, Michael Pennington, Ian Whitney and Kaci Whitney, step great grandchildren, Chance, Laken, Brooks and Braxton Phillips, Cassidy Kern, Logan Whitney and Aubrey Whitney, sister, Loetta Bright, brother, Bob Green, several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Harvey Bauman and Doug Roberts officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Stanton, Brad Dugger, Seth Embree, Marsh Brinkley, Doug Arney, Sean Embree, Eric Shell and John Burleson. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Denny, George Frank, Roy Barlow, Bill Deal, Arthur Greene, Kenny Greene, Wayne Beinge, Chris Pennington, Marshall Lawrence and Shane Greene.
