    Notes:

    Para Ann Potter Oliver, 91, of Hermitage Health Center, formerly of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late John and Liza Sheets Potter and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Oliver, a son, Johnny Oliver, a brother and five sisters.

    Mrs. Oliver was a homemaker. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to garden and cook and she loved animals. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

    She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Marlow and her husband, Larry, Hampton; two sons, Jerry Oliver and his wife, Kathy; Bill Oliver and his wife, Kathy, all of Hampton; five grandchildren, Wendy Marlow, Charles Oliver, Brandon Oliver, David Oliver, Travis Oliver; four great grandchildren, Whitney Oliver, Cameron Oliver, Sophia Oliver, Riley Oliver; special friends, Clyde and the late Hazel Fuller; Vena Good, Eula White, and Brenda Persinger. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    The funeral service for Mrs. Oliver will be conducted on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Dr. Danny Bright and Rev. Douglas Ranshaw officiating. Music will be under the direction of Dr. Danny Bright, soloist. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service or at the homes of any of the family at other times.

    Interment will follow the funeral service at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Larry Marlow, Larry Talley, Kevin Ward, Kale Ward, Carl Ward, John Ramsey, Jr., Mike Hawkins, Brandon Oliver, David Oliver and Charlie Oliver.

    The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Hermitage Health Center for the love and care shown to Mrs. Oliver during her time there.

    HAMPTON - Jerry Wayne "Ollie" Oliver, age 66, of Hampton, went to his heavenly home surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Jerry was born in Carter County to the late Edward H. and Para Potter Oliver. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnnie H. Oliver; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Clyde and Hazel Fuller.

    Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a brick and block mason by trade and attended Hampton Christian Church. Jerry loved playing guitar, working on his old cars in his garage, and spending time with his friends. He left his imprint throughout the region with the homes he built and the businesses he built and operated.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Kathy Fuller Oliver, of the home; two son, David Oliver and wife Michelle, of Gray, TN and Charles Oliver and wife Deidra, of Erwin; a brother, Bill Oliver and wife Kathy, of Hampton; a sister, Wanda Marlow and husband Buck, also of Hampton; seven grandchildren, Sophie, Malorie, Riley, Keara, Kaleace, Charlie Beth and Jace; one brother-in-law, Jeff Fuller; three sisters-in-law, Stephanie Rowe and husband Chris, Carolyn Fuller, and Jennifer Treadway and husband Wes; and a special friend, Betsy Rainbolt. Several nieces, nephews, special cousins and special friends, also survive.

    A service to honor and celebrate the life of Jerry Wayne "Ollie" Oliver will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Dwayne Calhoun and Rev. Ronnie Campbell, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Tuesday.

    The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Larry Marlow, Kale Ward, Kevin Ward, Mike Hawkins, Randall Vines, Ray Campbell, Richard Arnett and Jeff Fuller. Honorary pallbearers will be Lou Honeycutt, Larry Talley, John Henson, Bill "Bull" Campbell, Donnie Carden, Dean Burchette, Jerry White, Jimmy Matherly, David Caldwell, Terry Vines, Wes Treadway, Chris Rowe and Johnnie Julian. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, to go in procession.

    The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Johnson City Medical Center – ICU Unit and the 6200 floor, the nurse from Coram and John Embury. Also, a very special thank you for all the thoughts and prayers that were said for the family.
