    Notes:

    ELIZABETHTON - Phillip H. Potter, 86, Elizabethton formerly of Roan Mountain passed away peacefully Wednesday March 8, 2018 after an extended illness.

    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late David & Etta Julian Potter. Phillip was a graduate of Cloudland High School. He served in the US Navy & US Air Force. He was retired from McLean Trucking Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Roan Mountain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lois Potter, by a son: Steven M. Potter and a brother: Kenneth Potter.

    Survivors include a daughter: Laurie Milom & husband Bill, Elizabethton. A son: David R. Potter & wife Patsy, Hendersonville, Tenn. His Sisters: Jewell Hayes & husband Burnett, Elk Park, NC and Peggy Lewis, Lexington, NC. His Grandchildren: Phillip R. Potter & wife Heather, Roan Mountain, Daniel L. Potter & wife Keely, Grand Junction, Colorado, Mindi E. Oaks & husband David and Melissa E. Smith & husband Justin all of Elizabethton. His Great Grandchildren: Phillip T. Potter, Madison Potter, Savannah Potter Ava Oaks and Caleb Potter.

    Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
