    ... 71, Route 4, Butler, died unexpectedly Tuesday night at his home.
    A native of Johnson county, he was a farmer and member of Little Doe Baptist Church.
    Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Winnie Robinson; six sons, Elmer and John D. Robinson, Pulaski, Va., Selmer Robinson, Butler, Delmer Robinson, Delware; and Glenn Robinson with the U.S. Navy; six daughters, Mrs. Javy[sic] Fritts, Elizabethton; Mrs. Bonnie Rice, Bristol, Mrs. Leslie Stalcup, Mrs. Edna Kyte, Mrs. Grace Pierce and Mrs. Shirley Norris, all of Butler; one brother, Dewey Robinson, Athens; one sister, Mrs. Mack McQueen, Elizabethton and 27 grandchildren.
    Funeral services were conducted from the Little Doe Baptist Church on Friday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Guinn Blackburn, Rev. S. D. Hart, and Rev. C. O. Binkley officiating. Burial was in the Rambo cemetery.
    Rev. Ben Wood was in charge of the music.
    Pallbearers were Ohlan Rambo, Argil Rambo, Kyle and Karl Pleasant, Clarence Cannon, A. J. Stalcup, J. A. Stalcup, Lipford Garland. Flower bearers were neighbors and ladies of the church.
    Gentry Funeral Home in charge.

    Mildred Fay Robinson Fritts, 94, Elizabethton passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at her residence after a brief illness.

    A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Emerald & Winnie Wilson Robinson. She had lived in Elizabethton for the past sixty five years. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Fritts was a member of the Little Doe Baptist Church, Butler but attended East Side Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty seven years Jady Fritts, who died November 21, 2006, two Sons: Malcolm and Kenneth Fritts, four sisters and six brothers and her son-in-law: Bob Davenport.

    Survivors include Two Daughters Helen Huffine and husband Harold, and Phyllis Davenport all of Elizabethton. Six Grandchildren: Teresa Smith & husband Allen, Richard Davenport and wife Beverly, Donna Royston and husband Danny, Brian Fritts, Kevin Fritts, and Michael Fritts and wife Heather. Seven Great Grandchildren, Four Great Great Grandchildren. A Sister: Edna Kyte, Butler. Two Sisters-in-Law. One Brother-In-Law: Charles Norris, Butler. Several Nieces & Nephews.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doug Hardin officiating.

    Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Happy Valley Memorial Park with her Grandson Rev. Michael Fritts officiating. Music will be provided by Mark Odom. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday will be: Joshua Atkinson, Richard Davenport, Bobby Davenport, Danny Royston, Brian Fritts and Dylan Fritts.

    Mildred married Jadie Fritts about 1938 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Jadie (son of John William Fritts and Emeline L.     Edna Kyte, age 90 of Butler, TN, passed away on Friday morning, April 1, 2022 at her home. Edna was born on April 15, 1931 to the late Emerald and Winnie Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Little Bud, Big Bud, J.D., Delmer, Ray, and Glenn; sisters, Shirley Norris, Fern Stalcup, Faye Fritts, Grace Pierce, Bonnie Rash and step-grandchild, Teresa.

    Edna enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds, and collecting angel figurines. She also loved her animals dearly. Edna was a kind and loving person who will be missed by all who knew her.

    Those left to cherish her memories include her son, Danny Kyte; daughter, Brenda Townsend and husband, Bud, whom Edna loved as a son; grandchildren, Misty Kyte, Garret Kyte, and Jordan Wisecup; step-grandchildren, Michael, Jimmy, and Christina; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Maddox, Colton (Pickle), and Mia; sister-in-law, Betty Robinson; special brother-in-law, Charles Norris; special friends, Ed Townsend, Joan Arnold, and Tammy Jordan and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    The graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Owens, Ed Townsend, Jeff Roten, John McEwen, Sammy Lunceford, and Craig Peters. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Norris, Ken Luckett, Steve Cross, and Randy Norris.

    A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Wayne & Maude Robinson Stout. She had lived in Elizabethton for several years. Ruth was a graduate of Johnson County High School and attended East Tennessee State College. She retired from Burlington Industries, Mountain City. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Elizabethton and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was a former member of First Baptist Church, Mountain City, and was a former member and Choir Director of Little Doe Baptist Church, Butler. She was a member of Butler Chapter, Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by her husband: Ross H. Grindstaff who died September 30, 1993, and by a daughter: Sherry Grindstaff Mock, who passed away November 24, 2015.

    Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law: Melody & David Crockett, Elizabethton. Four Grandchildren: Brad Proffitt, Jeremy Proffitt , Xandi Crockett , and Jessi Eller. A special granddaughter: Linda Scalf. Two Great Grandchildren: Dylan Proffitt and Kimberly Ann Proffitt. Her Brothers & Sisters-In-Law: Bill & Carolyn Grindstaff, Jack & Wilma Grindstaff and Barbara Grindstaff. Several special nieces , nephews and cousins.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Jennings and Rev. Jack Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City. Music will be provided by Nathan & Becky Jennings. Active Pallbearers will be: Bill Brookshire, Chris Reece, Bill Grindstaff, Randy Cook, Scotty Baker, Ethan Boles, Scott Scalf and Porter Stout. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Her Church family at First Free Will Baptist Church and friends at Courtyard Apartments.

    She was retired from H.I.S., Johnson City. Mary was a member of the Boone Trail Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. She loved to work in her flowers.
    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Buck, who died March 21, 1999.
    Survivors include her son: William N. Buck and his wife, Sherri, Johnson City; Five Grandchildren: Zachary Buck, Jeffrey, Jason, Deranda and Courtney Fair; Four Great Grandchildren; Two Brothers: Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Billy J. Stalcup and wife, Nicole, Alexandria, Virginia, and John Paul Stalcup and wife, Betty, Johnson City; One Aunt: Edna Kyte, Butler; One Uncle: Charles Norris, Butler; Several nieces, nephews & cousins.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dwight Jenkins, Rev. Terry Jones and Rev. Bill Greer officiating.
    Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014, in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Music will be provided by the Ladies Trio of Keystone Free Will Baptist Church and Cathy Fagan. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, will be: Don Dweyer, Wayne Bledsoe, Will Easler, John Stalcup Jr., Stacey Stalcup and Todd Weise. Honorary Pallbearers will be her church family and the Joy Sunday School Class.
    The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Brenda & Arthur Buck and Betty & Paul Stalcup for taking excellent care she received and also to the Boone Trail Baptist Church.

    ELIZABETHTON - Phyllis Davenport, age 75, of Elizabethton went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2018 at her residence.

    Phyllis was born in Butler, Tennessee to the late Jady and Faye Robinson Fritts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bobby Joe Davenport; two brothers, Malcolm Fritts and Kenneth Fritts; and a daughter, Kathy Davenport.

    Phyllis was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be missed tremendously by all who knew her. She was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Richard Davenport, of Elizabethton; her daughter, Donna Royston and husband Danny, of Lake Wylie, SC; three grandchildren, Devin Trivette, Kayla Davenport and Bobby Davenport; her sister, Helen Huffine, of Elizabethton; and her special friend, Lee Hamm, of Elizabethton.

    A service to honor and celebrate the life of Phyllis Davenport will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. James Henson and Rev. Dean Smith, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Saturday.

    The graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Allen Smith, Bobby Davenport, Austin Jaynes, Jimmy Bowling, John Pansock and Gordon Nidiffer.
