    Notes:

    He served our country proudly and was a United States Army Air Corp Veteran, having served in World War II. He was in the Burma Theater of operations, flying war supplies from India over "The Hump" into China.
    He achieved the rank of captain and received the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Distinguished Flying Cross with Two Oak Leaf Clusters for his war time service.

    During his pilot training Dr. McQueen met his wife Mary Brooklyn New York, who was a lieutenant in the Army Corp of Nursing.

    After his military service he received the degree of Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis and practiced in Sevierville from 1952 until his retirement in 1988.

    Dr. McQueen was an avid golfer and trout fisherman enjoying fishing not only in his native East Tennessee, but also in the western states and Canada.
