    Patsy "Tine" Eggers passed away on Saturday November 17, 2018 at her residence. She was born On January 8th, 1942, in Shouns, TN to the late Garfield Trivette and Vira Martin Trivette. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Ottis Trivette, Clay Trivette, Verdie Mae Stout, Eula Faye Courtner, Bob Trivette, Dean Trivette, Arlis Trivette, and her best friend Maxine King.

    Tine worked for many years at the Mountain City Glove Plant. When she wasn't working, she loved working in her flower garden. She was a member of the Rainbow Mennonite Church. Those left to cherish Tine's memory are her three sons; Steve Eggers and wife Sharon, Jimmy Eggers and wife Tonnie, Timmy Eggers and wife Barbara all of Mtn City, TN, two brothers Bill Trivette and Rod Trivette; seven grandchildren, Derek Steven Eggers, Jessica Renee Eggers, Tiffany Minks, Megan Sedgwick, Heather Minks, Anna Morefield, and Rebecca Condon; twelve Great-Grandchildren, one special Great-Granddaughter, Serenity Mae Alexander, as well as several nieces and nephews.

    Ted Trivett, age 94, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Watauga Medical Center. He was born on March 2, 1923 to the late Clyde James Trivett and Sally Ethel Martin Trivett. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Juanita Marie Walsh Trivett; sisters: Wilma Trivett Walsh and Margie Trivett Taylor and brother, Johnie Glenn Trivette; brothers-in-law: Wade Taylor, Dana Walsh, Luther Rupard and Sam Taylor.

    Ted owned and operated his own sawmill for many years. He loved being outdoors and had a special love for sawmill work. He was an avid coon hunter. He studied forestry and fire- fighting techniques with the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a great story teller and loved spending time with his family and friends.

    Those left to cherish his memories include his sons: Ted 'Junior' Trivett and wife Mary, Gary Trivett and wife Tracy; daughter, Phyllis Lipford and husband Glenn, all of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Gladys Rupard of Laurel Bloomery, TN and Irene Taylor of Mountain City, TN; brother, Earl Trivette of Mountain City, TN; sister-in-law, Cathleen 'Kitty' Trivette; special neighbor, Lois Combs; special caregiver, Barbara Sexton; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel.

    Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Rainbow Cemetery with Glenn Lipford III and Kenneth Phipps officiating. Pallbearers will be Glenn Lipford III, Tyler Trivett, Jamey Icenhour and David Martin.

    Ted married Juanita Marie Walsh on 18 Aug 1945 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Irene was born in Mountain City, TN, on August 3, 1925 to Clyde Trivette and Sally Martin Trivette and is also is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Sam E. Taylor as well as brothers Glenn and Ted Trivette, and Wilma Walsh and Margie Taylor.



    Irene was a charter member of the Calvary Baptist Church, she loved flower gardening digging herbs and just the outdoors in general.

    Her survivors include daughter Alma Howard, Mtn City, Tn. Son Jim Taylor, Mountain City, TN.

    Sister Gladys Rupard, Laurel Bloomery, TN Brother Earl Trivette of Mountain City, TN. Grandchildren Jeffrey Harrison, Jimmy Taylor, Michael Taylor, and David Taylor.

    The funeral service for Irene will be conducted on Sunday January 27, 2019 in the Charles B Hux Chapel of Hux & Lipford at 7 pm. with Rev. Steven Spencer to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm. Graveside services will be conducted on Monday morning at 11 am in the Reece cemetery everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery at 10 45 am.

    Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Harrison, Michael Tanner, David Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, J.R. Trivette, and Jim Taylor.

    Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Hodge, and Mike Brooks.

    Notes:

    Gladys “Maw” Rupard, 89, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2022, at Franklin Woods Hospital. She was surrounded by her family.

    She is preceded in death by her husband Luther Rupard, Her mother and father, Clyde and Sallie Trivette, and her sisters Irene Taylor, Margie Taylor, and Wilma Walsh. Her brothers, Ted and Glenn Trivette.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Earl Trivette, Her children, Patsy Galliher and husband Chris, Benny Rupard and wife Phyllis, Judy Howard, Tammy Grindstaff, and husband, Bob. She has 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

    Everyone in the community knew her by “Maw.” She was a friend to anyone that knew her. She will be deeply missed by so many. Special Thanks to Barbara Denney, Becky Goins, and Amedisys Home Health for helping with care during her illness.

    Graveside services for Gladys “Maw” Rupard will be conducted on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 3 pm from the Reece Memorial Cemetery with John Hammett and Spencer Roark to officiate.

    Honorary pallbearers include Bob Grindstaff, Chris Galliher, Josh Key, Cole Howard, Larry Trivette, and Ted Trivett, Jr.

    James Elbert Johnson, age 76, of Creston, NC, passed away in his home on Saturday, October 13, 2018. James was born December 1, 1941 to the late Booker T. and Lura May Johnson. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sisters Lois Lipford and Margaret Glen, brothers Cecil Johnson, Robert Johnson, and his twin brother John Johnson, sister-in-law Deanna Potter Johnson, brothers-in-law Otis Forrester and Ralph Lipford, a niece Tammie Graybeal, nephews Allen Lipford and Adam Taylor, and his brother-in-law Clifford Treadway, who held a special place in his heart.

    James lived and farmed in Creston, NC for all his adult life, making a living as a tobacco and cattle farmer. When James was not working the farm, he enjoyed collecting knives and guns and fishing for trout in the cool mountain streams of North Carolina. James attended Corinth Baptist Church in Mountain City for many years.

    Those left to cherish James memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Magdalene Potter Johnson, nieces Jane, Penny, Delores, Michelle, Terri, Tarrina; nephews James, Kenny, Benny, Keith, Steve, Gary, William, Terry, Tony, Bobby, Greg, Michael, and Shane; sisters-in-law Mae Johnson, Betty Johnson, Sue Potter Treadway, and Marilyn Potter Graybeal; brother-in-law Lenny Glenn.

    Active Pallbearers will be nephews: Ricky Osborne, Shane Blevins, Michael Potter, Gary Johnson, Keith Johnson, and James Forrester. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, James Keller, Greg Graybeal, Freddy Forrester, and Lundy Taylor.

    Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2018, from 2pm to 3pm at the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel in Mountain City, Tennessee with a graveside service to follow, with Brother Billy Morefield to officiate, at the Johnson-Potter Cemetery, 2811 Roundabout Road, Creston, North Carolina.
