ELIZABETHTON - Jack Clemons, 91, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late John & Rose Richardson Clemons. He was retired from General Shale as a Jack Operator. He had served in the Tennessee National Guard. He loved to fish, hunt and work in his garden. Jack was a member of East Side Free Will Baptist Church where he drove a church bus for several years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Alma June Lyons Clemons, a son: Jeffrey Clemons, two sisters: Venie Carr and Lena Hayes and two brothers: R.J. and Thomas Clemons. His daughter-in-law: Barbara Clemons and his son-in-law: Clarence Frye.
Survivors include his children: Blenda Hester, Barbara (Clarence) Taylor, Gary Lynn Clemons, Richard Clemons, Robin (Richard) Guy, Billy Jack (Lisa) Clemons, Timothy Allen (Tina Davis) Clemons, Jerry Clemons, Vickie Frye and Michael John (Rebecca) Clemons. 32 Grandchildren, 49 Great Grandchildren and Five Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Burleson, Rev. Steve Burleson and his grandson, Ethan Clemons. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

Carl Oscar Richardson, 86, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017, in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Wiley & Annie Pearl Williams Richardson. Carl was retired from the Tennessee Chair Factory. In earlier years he loved to go camping and fishing. He was a member of the New Hope Church of Jesus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Sylvia Richardson and a brother: Steve Richardson.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Naomi Williams Richardson. Two sons: Rickey C. Richardson and wife Joyce, and Curtis E. Richardson, all of Elizabethton. A Grandson: Nicholas Green and a very special Great Grandson: Mason Green. A Sister: Florence Stevens, Johnson City. Three Brothers: Frankie and Elbert Richardson both of Elizabethton, and Harley Richardson, Johnson City. Several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in the Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastors Sandra & Jonny Ollis officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Music will be provided by Shelly Rodifer, Elijah Rodifer and Jerry Smith. She was a native of Elizabethton and was a daughter of the late Wally Thomas Richardson and Annie Pearl Williams Richardson. Mrs. Stevens was a charter member of the Y Freewill Baptist Church n Johnson City. She had worked for the Family Drive-In and Skyline Drive-In and retired from the Johnson City Mall. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis ?Hawk? Stevens in 2016; a sister, Sylvia Richardson and two brothers, Carl and Steve Richardson.

She was a native of Elizabethton and was a daughter of the late Wally Thomas Richardson and Annie Pearl Williams Richardson. Mrs. Stevens was a charter member of the Y Freewill Baptist Church n Johnson City. She had worked for the Family Drive-In and Skyline Drive-In and retired from the Johnson City Mall. The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City from 1:00 to 2:00 PM then proceed to the cemetery. Mrs. Stevens sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

ELIZABETHTON - Franklin D. "Frank" Richardson, 77, Elizabethton, passed a way unexpectedly Monday, February 25, 2019 at his residence.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Wiley T. & Anna Pearl Williams Richardson. Frank was a 1961 graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended Steed College. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was an employee of North American Rayon Corporation for 35 + years until its closing and he retired from Mapes Piano String. He was a member of Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church. Frank was a member of the Carter County Honor Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years Charlotte Lou Fair Richardson who passed away June 13, 2012, by two brothers: Stephen Paul Richardson and Carl Richardson and two sisters: Sylvia Richardson and Florence Stevens.

Survivors include two daughters: Angela Manning & husband Foye, Morristown, TN and Diana Wright, Elizabethton. His Grandsons: Thomas Tester, David "Dylan" Wright and Franklin Wright, His Granddaughters: Nickie Grayless, Anna Jennings, Emily Wright, Great Granddaughters: Makayla Tester, Zoë Hyatt, Olivia Tester, Izzabella Wright and Chasity Grayless, Great Grandsons: Timothy & Steven Jennings and Spencer Heaton. Two Brothers: Harley Richardson, Johnson City and Everette Richardson, Elizabethton. Several nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Jordan and Pastor Gene Fleenor officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 1:45 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers and Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers will be his family and friends.

He was employed by Color Works, Inc. He loved spending time with his family. Curtis Eugene Richardson, 55, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born November 17, 1966, in Elizabethton. He was preceded in death by his father: Carl Oscar Richardson.
Survivors include his mother: Naomi Williams Richardson, and a brother: Rickey Richardson, Elizabethton. Two uncles and one aunt.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be; Jaden Lowe, Gavin Lowe, Nick Green, Bryan Pierce, Kevin Campbell and Jeremy Pierce.

Mr. Gary Stevens, 66, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021. The son of the late Lewis & Florence Richardson Stevens, Gary was born in Carter County, Tennessee, on December 31, 1954.
Gary retired from East Tennessee State University as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was formerly employed at SB White for 26 years.
Gary’s grandkids were the light of his life. He had a love for history and enjoyed teaching others about his culture. Gary participated in the Wataugans outdoor drama as Chief Little Carpenter for 30 years. He was a founding member of the Ghost Riders and also founded the Tennessee Frontiersman.
He is survived by his sons, Chris Stevens and Cody Stevens (Miranda), grandchildren, Sarah Stevens, Katherine Stevens, Case Stevens and Delaney Stevens, brother, Eugene Stevens Sr. (Karen), sister, Sandra Townsend, several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and fur-buddies, Gracie and Daisy.
In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his first wife, Daisy.
A funeral service will be held at the Tipton-Haynes Historic Site on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 12:00 PM. The graveside service will follow at 2:00PM at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
