    PINEY FLATS - Loretta Curd Smith, 87, of Piney Flats, TN passed away on November 19, 2019.

    Born in Watauga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Spencer Rodney Curd and the late Cora Lee Fair Curd. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Patsy Curd, three brothers, Charles, Tony Wren and Clinton Dewayne Curd and one sister-in-law Sandra Curd.

    She was a member of Poplar Ridge Christian Church. Loretta was a Tupperware manager for 32 years. She LOVED TO TALK and to meet new people. She loved to cook and loved making bread and cakes for other people. She had many friends and she believed in telling she loved them while they were living.

    She is survived by her loving husband and best friend Herman S. Smith; three sons, Chip Smith of Piney Flats, TN, Jeffrey Smith of Spring Hill, TN and Tony Smith of Jessup, MD; five grandchildren, Timmy, Emily, Grace Smith, Joshua and Anastasia Smith; two great grandchildren Rachael and Madison Smith, one sister-in-law, Kim Curd and several nieces and nephews. She also loved the children she babysat. They called her "Mimi" and she called them her adopted grandchildren; Gavin Grizzle, Rachel Hamilton, Kimberlyn and Jonathan King, Josh and Jonathan Gregory.

    The family will receive friends on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Poplar Ridge Cemetery.
