    Joyce Nell Brown Smiley age 87, of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Friday, October 5th, 2018 at the Mountain City Care Center following an extended illness.

    She was Born November 19, 1930, in Mountain City. Nell is preceded in death by her parents Leah Rebecca Dishman Dunn and William Eduyth Dunn. Nell is also preceded in death by her husband Albert Brown, Son Junior Brown, Daughter-in-law Linda Shull Brown, Brothers and Sisters Retha Dunn, Orville Dunn, Mable Barlow, Leona Pennington, Edd Dunn, Trula Lipford, and Louise Robinson.

    Nell worked for many years in the textile industry with Leco, Levis, and Burlington manufactures. When Nell wan't working, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, traveling, but most of all she enjoyed taking care of her family.

    Those left to cherish her memory are her Daughter Maxine and husband Bob Arnold; Sisters Beulah Clampitt and Laura Dunn Lipford; Brothers Everett, Earnest, and Bob Dunn. Grandchildren Steve Brown and wife Robin, Brian Arnold and wife Davina, Mechelle Arney, Christie Arnold Atwood and husband Tracy.

    Great Grandchildren Caleb and Megan Brown; Caden and Troy Arnold; Dalton Atwood; Will, Myles, and Brady Arney; Deana, Makynna, and Savanna Younce.Special Cousin; Herman and Ruby Stout. Special thanks to her friends at the Mountain City Care Center, who loved and treated her like family.

    Funeral Services for Nell Brown Smiley will be conducted at 7 pm. Tuesday October 09, 2018, at the Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Steven Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm prior to the funeral service.

    Graveside service with burial will be held at 10 am. Wednesday, October 10, 2018, in Sunset Memorial Park.

    Pallbearers are Steve Brown, Brian Arnold, Tracy and Dalton Atwood, Caden and Troy Arnold, and Will Arney. Honorary Pallbearers; Caleb Brown, Brady and Miles Arney, Dan Lipford, Dr. John Whitlock, and Dr. Daniel Jones. Music under the direction of the Church Choir.
