    Notes:

    Mrs. Blonnie Edith Crowe Bowers, 90, of Life Care Center of Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a lengthy illness.

    Mrs. Bowers was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Farris Daniel and Lottie Pearl Morton Crowe.

    She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

    Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by three sons, William "Bill", Tony and Burl Bowers; by one daughter, Charolette Renfro; one brother, Eston Crowe; one sister, Ellen Absher; and by two husbands, Woodrow Bowers and D.C. Williams.

    Survivors include six daughters, Betty Bell and Lois Hughes, both of Elizabethton, Patsy Presnell and Beulah Lunceford, both of Hampton, Carolyn Bishop, Michigan, and June Saults, Johnson City; one son, Terry Bowers, Johnson City; one sister, Maude White, Knoxville; one special son-in-law, John Presnell; 33 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and two special nieces, Shirley Morrell and Barbara Rumley. She is survived by her other family at Life Care Center.

    Funeral service for Mrs. Blonnie Edith Crowe Bowers will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Horace Bowers officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Morris Trio.

    Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Buckles Cemetery.

    Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Jerry and Lester Lunceford, Burl Bowers, Tim Bowers, Mike Wexler, Jimmy Hughes and Harvey Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will be John Presnell, Tim Willis, Claude Morton, Harold Montgomery, Martin Garcia, Mike Wolfinger, Allen Morris, Dwight Hughes, Dr. Peter Tuberty, the nurses at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, 3rd floor, and residents and staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton.

    Blonie married Woodrow Wilson Bowers on 20 Jan 1932 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Woodrow (son of Caleb Emmert Bowers and Rowena Bell Rever Brown) was born on 16 Feb 1914 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 22 Dec 1991 in Cass County, , , Michigan; was buried in Prarie Grove Cemetery, , Cass County, Michigan.     ELIZABETHTON - Betty Ivalee Bell, age 89, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Woodrow Bowers and Blondie Crowe. Betty was a member of Pleasant Beech Baptist Church. She was an excellent homemaker and very crafty. Betty took pride in all of her work.

    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Bell; a sister, Charlotte Renfro; two brothers, Buryl Bowers and Tony Bowers and a son, Randy Dugger. Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Judy Miller and husband Jerry and Brenda Pierce and late husband Monty, of Butler; son, Harvey Dugger; five sisters, Lois Hughes, of Elizabethton, Carolyn Bishop, of Michigan, Patsy Presnell and husband John and Beulah Lunceford, all of Hampton and June Saults, of Johnson City; a brother, Terry Bowers and wife Barbara, of Johnson City and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren also survive.

    The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home.

    A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 in the Garland Cemetery, Erwin with Chaplain Alan officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 A.M. on Thursday.

    The family would like to give a special thanks to Beulah Lunceford and Patsy Presnell for all their support through the years.

    HAMPTON - Beulah Jacqueline Lunceford, age 86, of Hampton, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 11, 2021 at her residence. Beulah was born in Carter County to the late Woodrow and Blonnie Crowe Bowers. In addition to her parents, Beulah was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lunceford; three sisters; and three brothers.
    Beulah was a very special Mother and sister who worked hard and took care of her family. She was a woman of God and a member of Valley Forge Christian Church, where she was known as the hat lady. Beulah was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed gardening and working outside. She also enjoyed watching Nascar and football.
    Those left to cherish Beulah’s memory include her daughter, Janet Lunceford and Ray Price; her sons, Lester Lunceford and wife Shirley and Jerry Lunceford and wife Jennifer; two granddaughters, Heather Price and Kyle Boling and Donna McKeehan and husband Alan; three brothers, Terry Bowers and wife Barbara, Mike Warren and Kenny Warren and wife Jeannie; and three sisters, Patsy Presnell and husband John, June Saults and Carolyn Bishop. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    A graveside service to honor the life of Beulah Jacqueline Lunceford will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Mountain Home National Cemetery, New Annex, 215 Heroes Drive, Mountain Home, TN 37684, with Mr. David Seibenaler officiating. Pallbearer will be Mike Warren.

    Lois V. Bowers Hughes, 71, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Monday, August 30, 2021, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Woodrow Bowers and Blonnie Crowe Bowers. Lois was a very giving person and loved everyone. She enjoyed floral decorating and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lois was of the Baptist faith. She was very close to her sister June, of Michigan, with whom she spent many hours on long distance phone conversations.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her best friend and father of her children, Robert D. Hughes; one son, Johnny Hughes; two sisters, Charlotte Renfro and Betty Bell; two brothers, Buryl Bowers and Tony Bowers; and her best friend with whom she spent her last few years, D.O.G.
    Those left to cherish her memory include her two children, Jimmy Hughes and fiancée Karen of Roan Mountain; one daughter, Laura Morris of Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Brandon Campbell and wife Jessica, Jared Campbell and Jacob Morris of Elizabethton and Summer Hughes of Newport, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Maggie and Molly Campbell of Elizabethton and Gabe of Roan Mountain; four sisters, Patsy Presnell and husband John, Beulah Lunceford, all of Hampton, Carolyn Bishop and June Salts of Michigan; and one brother, Terry Bowers and wife Barbara of Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    A funeral service to honor the life of Lois V. Bowers Hughes will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 2, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Justin Deaton officating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The graveside service and committal will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 3, in the Hughes Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Jimmy Hughes, Brandon Campbell, Jared Campbell, Jacob Morris, Randall Hughes and Ian Ford. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Bowers, Allen Morris and Wayne Hughes.
