    Grace Ensor Pierce, 83, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017.
    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Mary Bishop Ensor.
    Grace was a graduate of Unaka High School. She had lived in Dublin, Va., for 32 years before returning to Elizabethton. She was a member of the Eastern Star and of the Baptist Faith.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Pierce, November 3, 2008; two brothers, Bill and Ralph Ensor; and three sisters, Georgia Quick, Mae Richardson and Rita Roth.
    Survivors are her two children, Steven Pierce and wife Genia, Elizabethton, and Donna Pierce Scofield and husband Don, Rutherfordton, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Karen Pierce, Emily White and husband Bryan, all of Elizabethton, Hope Scofield, Winston-Salem, N.C., Jessie, Kate, William and Zachary Scofield, all of Rutherfordton, N.C.; three brothers, Henry Wayne Ensor and wife Cynthia, Charles "Cobby" Ensor and Edward "Pookie" Ensor, all of Elizabethton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, at Carter Christian Church with the funeral services to follow at 6 p.m. Wednesday with Dr. Donald G. Scofield Jr. officiating. Music will be provided by the family. Interment will follow in the Blevins Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be William Scofield, Zachary Scofield, Bryan White, Jeff Ensor, Alan Shelnutt, Ty LaRue, Brian Barnette and Aaron Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.

    ELIZABETHTON - Steven Gene Pierce, 65, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at his residence.

    A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Billy Gene & Bernice Grace Ensor Pierce. Steven was a 1972 graduate of Unaka High School and 1978 graduate of East Tennessee State University with a degree in Surveying Technology. He was founder & operator of Iron Mountain Surveying for 30 years. He was a retired fireman with the Johnson City Fire Department after 29 years of service. He was an avid musician and outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, playing the guitar and gardening. Steven was a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge # 238 and Carter Christian Church.

    Survivors include his wife of 42 years: Genia Peters Pierce. Two Children: Karen Pierce and special friend, Aaron Taylor, and Emily White & husband Bryan. One Grandson: Isaac White. A Sister: Donna Scofield & husband Don. Five Nieces & nephews: Hope, Jessie, Kate, Will and Zach.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Donald G. Scofield officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Blevins Cemetery with Pastor Don Brandon officiating. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday will be: Bryan White, Ty LaRue, Brian Barnette, Jeff Ensor, Ron Davis, Allen Shelnutt and Aaron Taylor. The family would like to express a very special “Thank You” to the Staff of Amedisys Hospice, the Staff of Johnson City Internal Medicine, and Dr. Jeff Hopland for the excellent care he received.
