    JOHNSON CITY - Danie Junior "Tuzz" Lewis, 87, of Johnson City, died Monday, January 9, 2017 at Cornerstone Village.

    Danie was a native of Burnsville, NC. He was a son of the late Dewey and Nancy Rambo Lewis.

    Danie was a US Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He had worked at Memorial Hospital, as a truck driver and mechanic, and most recently as a school bus driver.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Harrell Guinn Lewis; daughter, Linda K. Lewis; and several brothers.

    Survivors include his daughter, Danette L. Grant and her husband Wayne; step son, Kim Scott Guinn and his wife Jana Bandy; step daughter, Kawana Robertson and her husband Don; daughter, Lynda Lewis Linville and her husband Jeff; son, Jay Mitchell Lewis and his wife Kim Turnmire Lewis; grandchildren, Sarah Grant Boone and her husband Doug, Danielle Grant Back and her husband Daniel, Tamara Asher and her husband Joel, Jared Robertson and his wife Erin, Lindsay Fuller and her husband Chris, Sydney Lewis, and Kira Lewis; great grandchildren, Dawson Wayne Back, Lily Asher, Walker Fuller, and Dalton Fuller; sister, Jessie Tucker; and special friend and neighbor, Ray.

    The family of Danie "Tuzz" Lewis will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:30 pm Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Mountain Home National Cemetery under the direction of Pastor Lenny Smith. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 1:45 pm Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The Bristol VFW will accord military honors. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    JOHNSON CITY - Jessie Tucker, 87, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at her residence.

    Jessie was born in North Carolina to the late George Dewey and Nancy Rambo Lewis.

    After 20 years, Jessie retired in the 80's from working in the canteen cafeteria at Mountain Home.

    In addition to her parents, Jessie was preceded in death by: her husband, James Tucker, in 1996; one daughter, Yvonne Swingle, in 2005; and several brothers.

    Survivors include: two daughters, Kristi Harrell and her husband Andy and Nancy Walsh; four grandchildren, Rachel Golla and her husband Christopher, Jodie Strap and her husband Ed, Rick Royston and his wife Stephanie and Holden Harrell; nine great grandchildren; son-in-law, Richard Swingle; and several nieces and nephews.

    The family would like to thank Dr. Amy Proffitt and the entire staff of Amedysis Hospice for the care they provided, especially, Laura, Sarah, Joni, Steven and Kay.

    A committal service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, December 2, 2019, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Chaplain Steven Spell. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am.
