Mrs. Susie Bowers Anderson, 99, of 810 North Roan Street, Elizabethton, formerly of the Blue Springs Community, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Lawson and Mary Williams Bowers and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alf Anderson; a son, Dallas Anderson and a daughter, Doris Grindstaff. Mrs. Anderson was the oldest member of the Blue Springs Christian Church. She loved to work in her garden and she enjoyed quilting.

She is survived by a daughter Mary Anderson; a son, Carl Anderson, both of Elizabethton; three grandsons, Albert Grindstaff, MO; Gerald Grindstaff and Larry Grindstaff, both of Elizabethton; three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Anderson will be conducted on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 7:30 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Jill Kemp.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6:00 -7:30 PM on Thursday, or at the home, 810 North Roan Street, at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Honeycutt, Fain Bowers, Ernest Bowers, Terry Oliver, Sherrell Bowers and Gayle Oliver. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.

Dallas Anderson, age 74,Elizabethton passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 in Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. He was a Carter County native and a son of Susie Bowers Anderson, Elizabethton and the late Alf Anderson. He was also preceded in death by a sister: Doris Grindstaff. In addition to his mother, Mr. Anderson is survived by one sister: Mary Anderson and one brother: Carl Anderson, both of Elizabethton. The funeral service for Mr. Anderson will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21st in the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Richard Thomason officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 22nd in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to meet the family at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Sherrell Bowers, Fain Bowers, Ernest Bowers, Willard Loveless, Gayle Oliver and Michael Honeycutt.

Carl J. Anderson, 79, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at his residence. Carl was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Alf and Susie Bowers Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Grindstaff, and a brother, Dallas Anderson.
Carl had worked as a cook at Dino's Restaurant in Elizabethton for over 50 years. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith and liked watching wrestling and eating out with his sister.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Mary Anderson, of the home, and two nephews, Larry Grindstaff, of Elizabethton, and Albert Grindstaff and wife Bizzie, of Missouri.
A service to celebrate the life of Carl J. Anderson will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 8, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Richard Thomason officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, or at the residence of his sister at other times. The graveside service will follow in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from friends.

Gerald S. Grindstaff, 65, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord, on Monday, April 17, 2017, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Grindstaff was born in Elizabethton and was the son of the late James B. and Doris Anderson Grindstaff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathaleen Grindstaff.
Those left to cherish his memory include two brothers, Albert Grindstaff and his wife, Teresita, of Missouri, and Larry Grindstaff of Elizabethton; and an aunt, Mary Anderson, Elizabethton, who was also his best friend and caregiver. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Grindstaff enjoyed listening to music and to ballgames. He was a loving brother and nephew who will be missed by his family.
A service to honor the life of Mr. Grindstaff will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from friends and family. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton for all the love and care shown to Mr. Grindstaff and his family.
