    Mary Stout Wallace, age 83, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017.

    She was born on April 18, 1934 in Johnson County, TN to the late Clarence and Dora Lowe Stout.

    In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert C. Wallace, who passed away on September 23, 2008; sister Shirley Smith; brothers, Bill Stout, Carl Stout, Charles Stout and Homer Stout.

    Mary loved collecting what-nots and things, enjoyed raising flowers and especially loved her family. She was a member of Mountain City Church of Christ.

    Those left to cherish her memories include her sons Bob Wallace and wife Sharon of Mountain City, TN and Tony Wallace and wife Brenda of Maryville, TN; grandchildren Brad, Robby, Andy and Roman Wallace and Amy Wallace Stover; nine great grandchildren; sisters Venia Stout and Josephine Laing; brother, Richard Stout, and several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017 from Mountain City Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Chuck Stewart and Tom Reece to officiate. Graveside service and burial will follow at Reece Memorial Cemetery.

    Mary married Robert Clay Wallace on 20 Jun 1953 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Robert (son of Carl H. Wallace and Thelma Reece) was born on 17 Apr 1929 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died on 23 Sep 2008 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Reece Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tennessee. Venia was born on April 3, 1937 in Johnson County, TN to the late Clarence Stout and Dora Lowe Stout. Venia is preceded in death by sisters, Mary Wallace, Shirley Smith; brothers, Charles Stout, Homer Stout, Bill Stout, Carl Stout; brother-in-law, Robert Wallace.

    Venia was a lifelong resident of Johnson County and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Richard Stout and wife Sharon of Elizabethton, TN; sister, Josephine Laing and husband Larry of Todd, NC and many nieces, nephews and friends.

    There will be a graveside service held at Reece Memorial Cemetery, 187 Liberty Church Rd. at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 with Richard Stout and Gale Hartley officiating and special music by John Brookshire. Pallbearers will be Carl Stout, Terry Stout, David Stout, Wayne Davis, Rick Blackburn and Roby Phillippi. Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and employees at Nightline Plant.
