    Gladys "Gerry" Stout, 74, of Butler (Poga Community), passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017, at her residence. Gerry was born in Avery County, N.C., to the late William and Ora Trivette Estep. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mattison E. Stout; one son, David T. Stout; and several brothers and sisters.
    Gerry was a homemaker and a member of Stout Hill Church of Christ. She loved to cook, bake and decorate cakes, gardening and spending time with her family.
    Those left to cherish her memory include her three sons, Michael Stout and wife Melinda, of Michigan, Greg Stout and wife Karen, of the Poga Community of Butler, and Mattison "Scooter" Stout and fiancée Sarah Gentry, of Butler; two daughters, Sharon Stout and Claude Banner, of Butler, and Tammie Ferguson and husband Kevin, of Butler; 11 grandchildren, Kimberly Anderson and husband Michael, Mikey Stout, Robert Stout, Sarah Poss and husband Justin, Kaylee Stout, Josh Stout, Savannah Stout, Alexis Christian, Rusty Christian, Natasha Schoffner and Aislinn Ferguson; two great-grandchildren, Michael Anderson Jr. and her special great-grandson, Jace Stout; one brother, Ronald Estep and wife Roberta, of New York; and several nieces and nephews.
    A service to honor and celebrate the life of Gladys "Gerry" Stout will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 28, at Stout Hill Church of Christ with Mr. Donnie Cable, minister, officiating. Music will be provided by the church choir. The family will receive friends at the church anytime on Friday, January 27, or at the residence at anytime. The graveside service will follow in the Stout Hill Cemetery, Butler (Poga Community). Active pallbearers will be Jessie Cable, Ellis Cable, Dale Cable, Lloyd Cable, Gary Cable and Brad Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Jacobs, J.P. "Junior" Clawson, Josh Stout and Robert Stout.

    Gladys married Mattison Elwood Stout about 1953 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Mattison (son of David Washington Stout and Ida Fay Andes) was born on 19 Mar 1932 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 14 Feb 2002 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Stout Hill Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennessee. Gregory was born June 9, 1963 in Carter County, Tenn., to the late Mattison Elwood Stout and Gladys Estep Stout. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Stout.
    Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Karen Stout, of Michigan; his daughter, Savannah Stout; a brother, Michael Stout, of Michigan; two sisters, Sharon Stout and Tammie Stout, both of Butler, Tenn.; and five stepchildren.
