    Marjorie Ann "Margie" McKinney, age 80 of 519 Bravo St., Elizabethton passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Elizabethton, she was the daughter of the late Beulah Baines Buckles.

    She was of the Baptist Faith, was a homemaker, an excellent cook and caregiver. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two great grandchildren, Austin and Madison Godfrey. Survivors include her husband, David A. McKinney, of the home, three sons, Donald Ray "D.R." McKinney, David "Doc" McKinney and wife, Janie, all of Elizabethton, Dale Allen McKinney, Johnson City, one daughter Debbie McKinney Berry and husband, Keith, Elizabethton, three grandchildren, Sara Berry Wagner and husband, Stephen, Elizabethton, Leslie Ann Godfrey and husband, Jonathan, Knoxville, Hollie Jo Bulla and husband, John, Elizabethton, two great grandchildren, Lawson Wagner and Marley Wagner, one sister, Charlotte Dalton, Elkhart, IN, two nieces and one nephew also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. McKinney will be conducted on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 7 P.M. in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Caroll Melton and Rev. Doug Hartley officiating.

    The family will receive friends in the Riverside Chapel on Monday, from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. prior to the funeral service or friends may call at the residence at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Stephen Wagner, Jonathan Godfrey, John Bulla, Keith Berry, Mike Melton and Steve Melton. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Tidwell, Dirk Tidwell, Estel Kirby, Jess Nidiffer, Bob Owens, Gary Johnson, Wayne Johnson, James Rash and Matt Lewis.

    Donald Ray "D.R." McKinney, age 72, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from the Durham-Hensley Nursing Home in Chuckey, Tennessee. D.R. was born in Elizabethton to the late David Alden McKinney and Margie Ann Treadway McKinney. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale McKinney.

    D.R. was a United States Navy veteran, having served in the Vietnam and was of the Christian faith. D.R. retired from Johnson City Dental Lab as a dental technician. He graduated from Elizabethton High School, Class of 1967, was a lifetime member of the Elizabethton Elks Lodge #1847 and a member of the Elizabethton Moose Lodge. D.R. loved to play pool, watch college football – especially the Vols, and spending time with his family and time at the lake.

    Those left to cherish his memory include a sister, Debbie Berry and husband Keith, of Elizabethton; a brother, Rick "Doc" McKinney and wife Janie, also of Elizabethton; three nieces, Sara (Stephen) Wagner, of Elizabethton, Leslie Ann (Jonathan) Godfrey, of Nashville and Hollie Jo (John) Bulla, of Elizabethton; a great nephew, Lawson Wagner; and a great niece, Marley Wagner.

    A service to celebrate the life of Donald Ray "D.R." McKinney will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, June 6, 2021 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Carroll Melton officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Monday.

    The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Mountain Home National Cemetery New Annex (215 Heroes Drive). Active pallbearers will be Johnny Greenwell, Mike Hardin, Barry Mathes, Mike Melton, Keith Berry, Lawson Wagner, Chris Stanbery, Vance Melton and Mick Mathes.     ELIZABETHTON - David Rick McKinney “Doc”, age 69, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Rick was born on March 30, 1953 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late David Alden McKinney and Margie Ann (Treadway) McKinney. In addition to his parents, Rick was also preceded in death by two brothers, D.R. McKinney and Dale McKinney; two grandchildren, Austin Godfrey and Madison Godfrey; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jo and Gene Smith.

    Rick had been employed as a pipefitter and was a United States Navy veteran. He was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church. Rick loved life and living it to it’s fullest! He especially loved the lake, fishing, all types of music and actually played the guitar very well. He loved John Wayne films and westerns. Rick was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

    Those left to cherish Rick’s memory include his loving and devoted wife, Janie (Smith) McKinney of the home; two daughters, Leslie (Jonathan) Godfrey and Hollie Jo (John) Bulla; his sister, Debbie McKinney (Keith) Berry; and a brother-in-law, David Smith. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and many friends also survive.

    A service to honor and celebrate Rick’s life will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Monday, May 23, 2022 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend Carroll Melton officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Monday.

    The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section). Active pallbearers will be John Bulla, Jonathan Godfrey, Keith Rauston, Chris Lipford, Mike Lipford, Tony Brandt, Chip Montgomery, Butch Lipford and Tim Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Melton, Keith Berry, David Smith, Lee Gouge and his friends of Fish Springs Marina- D. Dock Misfits.

He enjoyed football, singing and playing his guitar and listening to and writing music. He was a cast member of the movie "The River" in which he played a deputy sheriff. Dale was of the Christian faith.

    Those left to cherish his memory include two brothers, D.R. McKinney; Rick "Doc" McKinney and his wife, Janie; a sister, Debbie Berry and her husband, Keith; all of Elizabethton; three nieces, Sara Berry Wagner and her husband, Stephen, Elizabethton; Leslie Godfrey and her husband, Jonathan, Knoxville, Holly Bulla and her husband, John, Elizabethton; and his companion dog, Boy. Several cousins also survive.

    The service to honor the life for Mr. McKinney will be conducted at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Lewis Melton officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6:00 -8:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service.

    The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2016 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Lingerfelt, James Surber, Mike Melton, Keith Berry, Steve Melton, Billy Crum and the members of the Elizabethton High School Class of 1973. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the cemetery at 12:50 PM on Thursday.
