    RIDGEVILLE, Ohio -- Alta Tester (nee Bunton), 81, a long-time resident of Eaton Township, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at the Aristocrat Nursing Home in Berea, Ohio, following a short illness.
    She was born in Jonesborough, Tenn. and had resided in Eaton Township for 40 years.
    She had previously lived in Cleveland.
    She was employed for over 10 years at Grief Brothers in Cleveland where she did factory work.
    She retired in 1985.
    Mrs. Tester was an avid collector, and she had a collection of over 1,200 salt and pepper shakers. She also enjoyed embroidery, being involved in activities at the Aristocrat Nursing Home ans spending time with her family and friends.
    She is survived by three daughters, Jean Roch of North Olmsted, Ohio; Mary Fitts, of San Antonio, Texas, and Kathy Runyon of Grafton, Ohio; four sons, David M. of Parma, Ohio; Charles Robert of Litchfield, Ohio; Ronald of LaGrange, Ohio, and Kenneth, of Gafton; 20 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, in 1999; one daughter, Barbara, in 1994, and by one sister, Edna Cook.

    Alta married Louis Marshall Tester on 12 Nov 1938 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Louis (son of Eli Finley Tester and Sarah Camoline Presnell) was born on 13 Mar 1918 in , Watauga County, North Carolina, North Carolina; died on 30 Aug 1999 in Cuyahoga County, , , Ohio; was buried in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, , Lorain County, Ohio.
