    ELIZABETHTON - Edna Louise Fair Johnson, 82, Elizabethton, passed away Monday March 13, 2017 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James Slagle & Hildred Pauline Nidiffer Fair. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Byrl Johnson who passed away, September 12, 1995, by a sister: Emma Lou Houk and two brothers: Edward Eugene Fair and Perry Fair. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.

    Survivors include four children: Judy M. Campbell & husband David, Ted D. Johnson & wife Gail, Mildred L. Loveless & husband Bobby and Joe D. Johnson & wife Lois. Four Grandchildren: Robert Campbell & wife Jarilyn, Misty A. Branch & husband Joshua, Amy E. Huskins & Husband Brent and Crystal G. Durbin & husband Randy. Nine Great Grandchildren. Two Sisters: Martha Cox & husband Paul and Janice Stout & husband Earl, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces & nephews.

    Graveside Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the Highland Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Tommy Collins officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers will be: Kenny, Kenneth and Robert Campbell, Josh Branch, Paul Cox, Jr., Randy Durbin and Brent Huskins.

    ELIZABETHTON - Martha Lou Fair Cox, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late J.S. & Hildred Nidiffer Fair. She was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was a homemaker. She loved working in her flowers, gardening and taking care of kids. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church. She served as a Denmother for the Cub Scouts for several years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Eugene “Bo” Fair, and Perry Fair and two sisters: Edna Johnson and Emma Lou Houck.
    Survivors include her husband of 64 years: Paul Cox. Two Sons: Paul Cox, Jr & wife Lucy and Robert L. Cox and companion Wanda Stines all of Elizabethton. Three Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Granddaughter. A Sister: Janice Stout and a sister-in-law: Ruby Woods. Several nieces & nephews.
    Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday will be: Paul Cox, Jr., Robert L. Cox, Hunter John Williams, Jamie Lee Reece, Steven Holtsclaw and Eddie Houck. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of ER, 2nd Floor and ICU of Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

    JOHNSON CITY - Ted Johnson, 64, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

    Ted has worked at Snap-On Tools in Elizabethton for the last 16 years. Ted enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his grandsons and fishing. He often said that his most favorite thing on Earth was to take his grandsons fishing. Ted was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and most of all a friend to so many. Ted touched so many hearts because he was the definition of love. Ted showed love to everyone because he knew that Jesus first loved him, and it overflowed from his life to others.

    Ted was a member of The Strong Tower Church in Bristol, TN. He taught adult Sunday School class on Sunday morning and helped with many of the churches outreach projects. Ted also did a podcast that you can find on any outlet called “Sower of Seeds”.

    Ted was the son of late A.B. and Edna Johnson.

    Survivors include his wife of forty-six years, Gail Johnson.; one daughter, Crystal Durbin and her husband Randy; two grandsons, Greyson and Aiden Durbin; two sisters, Judy Campbell and Mildred Loveless and her husband Bobby Loveless; one brother, Joe Johnson and his wife Lois Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
