    JOHNSON CITY - Mary Elizabeth Cole Reed, 94, Johnson City went home to be with her Lord, Monday, February 20, 2017 at Pine Ridge Care Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late George W. & Hattie Snyder Cole. She was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. Mrs. Reed retired from North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Buffalo Valley Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Resinol Reed, three sisters: Lena Rominger, Hazel Ritchie & Carmalee Hopson and four brothers: Ira Cole, Seth Cole, Sam Cole and Paul Cole.

    Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters: Judy Reed, and Brenda Sams both of Johnson City and Lisa McAllister, Jonesborough. Two special sons-in-law: Max Sams and Mike McAllister. Three Grandchildren: Michael McAllister, Cindy Powell and Jennifer Stettner and husband Wesley, Nine Great Grandchildren: Bryson, Ethan, Alivia & Mary, Javan & Jordan, Cohen, McKenzie Wilson and Baby Stettner... A sister: Pearl Kulnich, Coalsville, Pa., several nieces & nephews. A special friend: Barbara Hicks.

    A Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Reed will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Jennings and Mr. Tim Carleson, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Bobbie Lewis and Bryan Smith. Active Pallbearers will be: Max Sams, Mike McAllister, Michael McAllister, Bryson Duffield, Ethan Powell, Javan McAllister and Jordan McAllister. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Her Church family.
