    Narvel Whitehead, 78, 3308 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at his residence.
    Mr. Whitehead was a native of Hampton and a son of the late Henry and Lucy Morton Whitehead. He was also preceded in death by a brother.
    Mr. Whitehead was a retired store room clerk at North American Rayon Corporation. He was a member and deacon of Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church and a member of Hampton Masonic Lodge #750. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a Disabled Veteran.
    Survivors include his wife, Pauline Hughes Whitehead; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Ned Isaacs, Hampton; a son, Alvin Whitehead, of the home; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Shirley Whitehead, Johnson City, and Louis and Dale Whitehead, Hampton; two sisters, Hazel Malone and Crystal Johnson, both of Hampton; a granddaughter, Beth Amy Isaacs; and three aunts, Tina Humphreys and Julie Miller, both of Elizabethton, and Arizona Hopson, Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

    WHITEHEAD -- Funeral services for Narvel Whitehead, 78, 3308 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, who died Saturday, March 16, 2002, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church (Simerly Creek Road), Elizabethton, with the Rev. Sam Ferguson, the Rev. Shane Waters and the Rev. Bill Jaynes officiating. Music will be provided
    by John Hensley and the Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church Choir. Interment will be in the Whitehead Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, will be Joe Street, Greg Whitehead, Mike Hill, C.J. Blevins, Jack Jaynes, Jeremy Whisenhunt, Glen Cates, Floyd Reeser, Ben Williams and George Roberson. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Lewis, Spurgeon Smith, Fate Whitehead, Horace Calhoun, Eddie Orr, Truman Clark, Dr. Frank Johnson, Bill Cullers, Bill Davis, Harold Street, Jay Smith, Gilbert Honeycutt and Lawrence Whitehead.

    Narvel married Pauline Hughes about 1945 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Pauline (daughter of Waits H. Hughes and Geneva McKinney) was born on 6 Mar 1929 in Mitchell County, , , North Carolina; died on 8 Aug 2021 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Whitehead Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennessee.     Crystal Whitehead Johnson, age 78, 197 Simerly Creek Road, Hampton, and Life Care Center of Elizabethton, died Sunday, December 7, 2003
    in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness.
    A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Lucy Morton Whitehead. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Little Doe Freewill Baptist Church and was a retired nurse.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, James "Black" Johnson, and three brothers, Babe Whitehead, Lester Whitehead and Narvel Whitehead.
    Survivors include one step-daughter and spouse, Lucy Nell and George Sells, of Johnson City; two step sons and spouses, Lynn and Jeanie
    Johnson, Elizabethton; Pat and Maggie Johnson, Gray; two brothers and spouses, Ed and Shirley Whitehead, Johnson City; Louis and Vale
    Whitehead, Hampton, and one sister, Hazel Malone, Hampton.
    The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Shane
    Waters and Rev. Gregory Whitehead officiating. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10,
    2003 at the Johnson-Roanview Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Sam Malone, Wade Tolley, George Robinson, Eddie Orr, Lynn Johnson, Pat
    Johnson and Byrd Dedrick. Honorary pallbearers will be the relatives, friends and members of Little Doe Freewill Baptist Church.

    JOHNSON CITY - Ed Whitehead, 90. Johnson City, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Hillview Health Center. He was born December 24, 1930, in Hampton to the late Henry & Lucy Morton Whitehead. He was a 1949 graduate of Hampton High School. Ed served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver. He formerly worked at ETWNC and Jones Truck Line. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Narvel & Louis Whitehead and two sisters: Crystal Johnson and Hazel Malone.

    Survivors include his wife of 65 years: Shirley Simerly Whitehead. One Daughter & Son-In-Law: Deborah & David Shankle of Johnson City. Two Grandchildren: David E. (Victoria) Shankle and Daniel (Ashley) Shankle. Three Great Grandchildren: David R., Emma and Edmund. Several nieces & nephews.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with his Nephew Pastor Greg Whitehead officiating, also assisting is Pastor Chuck Babb. Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be his church family. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post 2108.

    HAMPTON - Louis Whitehead, 80, Hampton, passed away peacefully Friday, April 28, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side.

    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Henry A. & Lucy Morton Whitehead. Louis was a 1955 graduate of Hampton High School and attended East Tennessee State College. He served in the United States Army. He was a retired Tool & Die Maker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Navel Whitehead, Two Sisters: Crystal Johnson and Hazel Malone and two infant brothers. He was a Member and Deacon of Morgan Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

    Survivors include his wife of 56 years: Dale Roberts Whitehead. Three Children: Vickie Whitehead Jenkins, Deltona, Florida, Lisa Whitehead Blackburn and husband Dana, and Greg Whitehead and wife Celena all of Hampton. Five Grandchildren: Allison and Kayla Jenkins, Stone Hutchinson, Kelli Blackburn and Louis Seth Whitehead. One Brother: Ed Whitehead and wife Shirley, Johnson City. Several nieces & nephews.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with his son Pastor Greg Whitehead officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in the Whitehead Cemetery with Pastor Troy Davis officiating. Music will be provided by his granddaughter, Kayla Jenkins. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday will be: Willie Morgan, Mike Hill, Malone Hill, Joe Vance, Stone Hutchinson, Zane Blevins and Danny Winters. Honorary Pallbearers will be his church family, friends and neighbors. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.
