    Notes:

    Margaret Whitehead Shaw, 86, of Roan Mountain, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at JCMH to join her Heavenly Father and Savior.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Milburn Whitehead and Mayme Carrie Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Kay Keith Shaw; an infant son, Glenn Holland; and two brothers, Warren Julian and Wayne Whitehead.
    Mrs. Shaw was a homemaker and enjoyed reading her scriptures, painting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Those surviving her are her seven children, son Frank Holland (Katie), daughter Marga Wilke, son James Shaw (Belinda), daughter Barbara Sexton (Charles), daughter Karen Boone (Jeff), son John Shaw (Shannon), and Jerome Shaw (Miranda). She had 14 precious grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a lifelong cherished cousin, Opal Russell, whom she considered a sister; a dear friend, Elizabeth Reeves; and two special friends from church, Beulah Puckett and Odleen Perry.
    Mrs. Shaw attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was an active member.
    It was Mrs. Shaw's wishes to have a graveside service to celebrate her life. It will be held on Monday, September 11, at 11 a.m. at the Captain Nelson Cemetery, Ripshin Mountain, with Bishop Trent Spaulding officiating and Anna Beucler directing the music. Pallbearers will be selected from the family. The family wishes to express their thanks for the excellent care that Mrs. Shaw received from the excellent ICU nurses and the wonderfully compassionate nurses and doctors from the 4300 Wing who took care of our mother.
