DAVID HILL TESTER
David Hill Tester, age 45, died in a local hospital at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday evening after a short illness.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Kitty Tester, two daughters, Mrs. George Cross, Mrs. Norman White, Elizabethton; three brothers, George Tester, Johnson City, Glen Tester, Elizabethton, Lee Tester, Elizabethton, and one sister Polly Tester, Elizabethton.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock from the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. George Westmoreland and Rev. Fred Smith officiating.
Rev. George Westmoreland will be in charge of the music.
Burial will be made in Highland Cemetery.
The body will be returned to the home 609 Sunset Avenue Thursday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock and will remain there until 1:30 Friday when it will be taken to church to lie in state until time for services.
Active pallbearers, Jim Riley, Andy Murray, Paul Meaderis, Cecil Dykes, Jim Mozer, Wilford Ellis, Charlie Mottern, and Leon Martin.

Ruby married George W. Cross on 26 Apr 1946 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. George (son of Sam Lee Cross and Venie Fox) was born on 7 Sep 1921 in , Giles County, Tennessee, ; died on 4 Jan 1977 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Happy Valley Memorial Park, , Carter County, Tennessee. ELIZABETHTON - Mrs. Haven White, 88, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016, at NHC Health Care. She was the daughter of the late David and Kittie Campbell Tester and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman "Curley" White; a daughter, Patricia White; a sister, Ruby Cross; a brother, Maynard Howard Tester; and a son-in-law, John VanHuss, Jr.

Mrs. White was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church which she loved dearly, as well as her Sunday School Class. She was very family oriented and she was very proud of all her family. Her granddaughter and her great-grandsons were a great source of joy for her. She enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, sewing and decorating. Mrs. White was also very fond of traveling and was a world traveler.

She is survived by her children, Barbara VanHuss, Johnson City; Pam King, and her husband, Dwight, Piney Flats; her granddaughter, Heather Hambrick, and her husband, Kacey; Johnson City; great-grandsons, Cole and Kipp Hambrick, Johnson City; and a special niece, Tammy Etherton, Knoxville. Several beloved nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Mrs. White will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Mike Richards officiating. Music will be under the direction of Debbie Thomas. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 4:00 -7:00 PM on Tuesday prior to the service.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mickey Church, Cole Hambrick, Kipp, Hambrick, Kacey Hambrick, Dwight King, Harold White, Sammy Maricle, Homer Stout and Edwin Tester. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Shipley, Larry Maricle, Chuck Siminski, and David Beeler. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the funeral home at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, to go in procession to the cemetery.

Haven married Norman "Curly" White on 21 May 1943 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Norman (son of Dewey D. White and Addie May Eggers) was born on 31 Jul 1922 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died in Dec 1970. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
