    Notes:

    Maxine Hodge Gagliano, 96, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 10, 2022, at Hillview Heath and Rehabilitation Center. She was one of 12 children born in Roan Mountain to the late James Fredrick Holsclaw and Susan Harmon Holsclaw.
    Maxine spent the early part of her working years at Bemberg Corporation. She would later open a remnant shop with her sister Pauline. It was known as Yate’s Remnant Shop. After the death of her first husband, Maxine moved to Jacksonville, Fla., where she met her second husband, Michael Gagliano. After their marriage they decided to move to St. Augustine, Fla., where they would spend their lives together. She worked at The Perky Pelican Christmas Shoppe and volunteered at St. John’s Food Pantry. In the year of 2000, Maxine decided to move back to Elizabethton. She was a member of Eastside Christian Church. Maxine enjoyed crafting, gardening, cooking and music of all kinds.
    In addition to her parents was preceded in death by husbands, Norman “Skeet” Hodge and Michael John Gagliano; son, Norman “Cotton” Hodge; daughter-in-law, Judy May Hodge; three sisters, Pauline Yates Shell, Ola Taylor Campbell and Betty Whitson Maupin; and four brothers, Charlie Holsclaw, Claude Holsclaw, Willie Holsclaw and John Holsclaw.
    Those left to cherish her memory are her three sisters, Martha Laws Forbes of Johnson City, Juanita Pansock and Barbara Milsaps of Elizabethton; brother, Arthur Holsclaw of Elizabethton; cousin (who Maxine mentioned many times that he was like a brother), Wes Holsclaw (Jane); step-children, Joe Gagliano and Joyce Christopher. Six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews also survive.
    A service to celebrate the life of Maxine Hodge Gagliano will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends between the hours of 1 and 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The graveside service and committal will follow in procession to Happy Valley Memorial Park, Johnson City. Pallbearers will be selected by family and friends.

    Willie Holsclaw, age 83, of Elizabethton, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was the son of the late Fred and Susan Harmon Holsclaw. He retired from City of Elizabethton, and served as a consultant until present day. Willie was a member and elder, of 50 years at Elizabethton Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and a big fan of the Elizabethton Cyclones. He loved to fish, hunt, golf, cook and spend time with his family.
    Willie was preceded in death by his three brothers, Charlie Holsclaw, Claude Holsclaw and John Holsclaw; three sisters, Ola Campbell, Pauline Shell and Betty Maupin; sister-in-law, Donna Holsclaw; brother-in-law, Jim Maupin. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, of 63 years, Leota Holsclaw, of the home; two sons, Eddie Holsclaw, of Elizabethton and Jeff Holsclaw and wife Vanessa, of Unicoi; three grand-daughter’s, Jessica Trivett and husband David, Katie Rosario and Husband Danny and Summer Mosley and husband Christopher; two grandson’s, Noah Holsclaw and Josh Reifert; eleven great-grandchildren, Halle, Luke, Levi, Miles, Callie, Millie, Stella, Willa Mae, Selah, Nala and Jade; brother, John Arthur Holsclaw; four sisters, Maxine Gagliano, Juanita Pansock, Barbara Milsaps, all of Elizabethton and Martha Forbes, of Johnson City; two sister’s-in-law, Eula Mae Hodge and Dorothy Dean Oaks, both of Elizabethton; special nieces, Tammy, Kim, Susie, Bebe, Debbie, Annie, Teresa, Nancy and several other nieces and nephews also survive.
    The graveside service and committal will be held at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

    JOHNSON CITY - John B. "Peeps" Holsclaw, Sr., age 78, of Johnson City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from Franklin Woods Community Hospital.

    John was born in Elizabethton to the late Fred and Susan Harmon Holsclaw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Hendrix Holsclaw; an infant daughter, Christy Michelle Holsclaw; two brothers, Charlie Holsclaw and Claude Holsclaw; and two sisters, Pauline Shell and Ola Campbell.

    John attended East Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee, where he played football on a scholarship. He was the former Carter County Property Assessor for twenty seven years and was a member of Elizabethton Church of Christ, where he had served as a Deacon. John also was the announcer for Carter County sports on WBEJ for forty one years and was known as "The Voice of the Cyclones." He was a former Lyons Club member and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and announcing sporting games and attending sporting events.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Tammy Holsclaw-Jones and husband Randy, of Johnson City, John Holsclaw, Jr. and wife Sheri, of Johnson City and Kim Buckner and husband Brian, of Elizabethton; eight grandchildren, Brooke Jones-Cannon and husband Ethan, Casey Jones, Alex Jones, Taylor Holsclaw, Kaeli Sams, Dana Belle Holsclaw, Hannah Holsclaw and Holly Holsclaw; seven siblings, Maxine Gagliano, of Elizabethton, Martha Forbes, of Johnson City, Juanita Pansock, of Elizabethton, Arthur Holsclaw and wife Jeannie, of Elizabethton, Barbara Millsaps, of Elizabethton, Betty Jean Maupin and husband Jim, of Elizabethton, and Willie Holsclaw and wife Leota, of Elizabethton. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

    A service to celebrate the life of John B. "Peeps" Holsclaw, Sr. will be conducted at 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the Elizabethton High School Gymnasium with Mr. Roby Ellis, Mr. Dennis Pierce and Mr. Eddy Craft, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM in the gymnasium, prior to the service on Saturday or at the residence at other times.

    The committal and entombment will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 9, 2018 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Steve Roberts, Jeff Holsclaw, Norman Hodge, Ronnie Taylor, Alex Jones, Brian Buckner, Ethan Cannon and Dale Fair. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, his church family, all coaches and ball players throughout the years, whom he loved so much, including his little league ball players, his teammates at Elizabethton High School and University of Tennessee, the staff of WBEJ radio, his broadcasting associates and all of his special friends.

    John married Donna Hendrix about 1961 in , Giles County, Tennessee, . Donna (daughter of Mack Cody Hendrix and Ruth Irene Massengill) was born on 24 Dec 1940 in Sullivan County, , , Tennessee; died on 29 Jul 2016 in Buncombe County, , , North Carolina; was buried in Happy Valley Memorial Park, , Carter County, Tennessee.     Elizabethton - Kimberly Renee “Kim” Buckner, age 54, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, TN. She was the daughter of the late John Bell Holsclaw, Sr. and Donna Hendrix Holsclaw. Kimberly was a long-time employee of 30 years as a Pharmacy Technician for Johnson City Medical Center. She was a 1985 graduate of Elizabethton High School and a member of Elizabethton Church of Christ. Kimberly never met a stranger. She loved to be around people and her dogs (Jack and Bootsie.)

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Christie Michelle Holsclaw; paternal grandparents, Fred and Susan Holsclaw; maternal grandparents, Cody and Irene Hendrix; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bill and Joann Hill and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Brian Buckner, of the home; a sister, Dr. Tammy Holsclaw-Jones and husband Randy; a brother, John Holsclaw, Jr. and wife Sheri, all of Johnson City and several nieces and nephews also survive.

    A service to celebrate the life of Kimberly Renee “Kim” Buckner will be held at 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Mr. Eddy Craft, Minister and Mr. Todd Houston, Minister officiating. Music will be under the direction of Chris Jordan. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. prior to the service on Wednesday.

    The graveside service and committal will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Johnson City. Active pallbearers are Ronnie Taylor, Jimmy Oxendine, Jeff Huffman, Scott Fields, Alex Jones, Jeff Holsclaw, Ethan Cannon and Steve Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are Members of Elizabethton Church of Christ, past co-workers and pharmacists at Johnson City Medical Center and especially Dr. Fawwaz Hamati and Dr. Jason Hatjioannou.
