    Ruby Grindstaff , age 92, of 919 Medical Park Drive, formerly from Butler, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012, after an extended illness. She was born December 4, 1919, to the late James and Myrtle Potter Brewer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dana Grindstaff and by two brothers, Claude and Bill Brewer. Ruby was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed farming, raising cattle, and gardening.
    Survivors include nieces and nephews, Claude Brewer Jr., Geraldine Gentry, and James Brewer all of Butler, TN, Leola Watson of Carryville, TN; and one sister-in-law, Hartensia Brewer of Butler, also special friend, Richard Hagler of Mountain City.
    Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Grindstaff were conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 8, 2012, from the Eastside Memory Chapel of the Hux Lipford Funeral Home, with Reverend Leonard Fletcher officiating. Graveside service and burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Park. Family received friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers were Benny Stout, Dean Campbell, Tommy Poore, Richard Hagler, Blaine Branch, Charlie Mann, and Coty Brewer. At other times the family will receive friends at 725 Little Dry Run Rd. in Butler.
