    Mr. Jimmie Dale "Paw Jim" Mann, 74, 222 Little Stoney Creek Road, Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. Now he is cruising on the streets of gold!


    Mr. Mann was the son of the late Dayton James and Winnie Arnett Mann and was a native of Carter County. He was a member of the Hunter Memorial Baptist Church and an honorary member of Fountain of Life Bible Church. He was retired from Great Lakes Research as a welder and had also retired from American Bemberg. He was also a member of the Carter County Car Club.


    Mr. Mann is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Janette Bowers Mann of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Teresa Treadway, Elizabethton; Lisa and Dan Germaine, Elizabethton; Carolyn and Dennis Ledford, Jr. Piney Flats; eight grandchildren, Brandon Treadway, Brian Treadway, Kent Germaine, United States Air Force and his wife Kim; Spc. Kyle Germaine, United States Army, and his wife, Heather, Kurt Germaine, Neil Ledford, Allison Ledford and Jared Ledford; two great-grandchildren, Yasmin Treadway and Savion Lytton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Joyce Mann, Elizabethton; Jerry and Velma Mann, Church Hill and a special sweetheart, Sandra K. Cederborg, Baltimore, MD. Several nieces and nephews also survive.


    The funeral service for Mr. Mann will be conducted on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, Elizabethton with Dr. Vic Young and Mr. Gerald Holly officiating. Music will be under the direction of Sue Bowers and Dan Germaine. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday prior to the service and at the residence at other times.


    The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Gerald Holly, officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and Wayne Cagle. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Arnett, Dr. Jeff Farrow, Dr. Jason Hatjioannou, Dr. Louis Collier Jordan, members of the Carter County Car Club and J.D. Anderson. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the charity of their choice.

    ELIZABETHTON - Kenneth Gene Mann, 85, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Dayton James & Winnie Ellen Arnett Mann. Kenneth was a 1954 graduate of Elizabethton High School, he also had classes at University of Tennessee and East Tennessee State University. He served in the United States Army and the National Guard. He was an instructor for 20 years at North East State. He loved to fly and was a private Pilot for years. Kenneth was an avid UT Fan and NASCAR Fan. He loved to attend the Car shows and riding his Motorcycle and farm his family land. He was a former Airport Commissioner and a member of the Elizabethton Elks Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Jimmy Mann. Kenneth was a member of Hunter Memorial Baptist Church.

    Survivors include his wife of sixty years: Joyce Hardin Mann. His Daughters: Kimberly (Carl) Miller, and Paula (Donnie)Hall. Two Grandchildren: Chelsie Maupin and Abby (Andrew) Martin. Three Great Grandchildren: Gracie & Carly Jo Maupin and Kenna Kyte. One Brother: Jerry (Velma) Mann. Several nieces & nephews. His special furry companion: Whiskers.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, Minister and Chaplain Chris Hughes officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday will be: Terry Mann, Tim Mann, Carl Miller, Jr., Donnie Hall, Andrew Martin and Terry Grindstaff. Honorary Pallbearers will be his longtime friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Staff of Amedisys Hospice, Kim Nielson, APN Medical Care and his care givers for the excellent care he received during his illness. Military Honors will be provided by V.F.W. Post 2108.

    Neil Thomas Ledford, age 28, of Bristol, Virginia, went home to meet his Heavenly Father on Monday, December 5th, 2022. Neil was born in Johnson City, Tennessee to Carolyn (Mann) Ledford Good of Elizabethton, Tennessee and the late Dennis Edward Ledford Jr. Tennessee. In addition to his father, Neil is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmie Dale Mann, and his step grandfather, James Simpson.

    Neil was a faithful friend, with a kind, loving spirit and a very giving heart. He was good natured, funny, and loved his family very much, always making sure that they were taken care of and had what they needed.

    From a young age, Neil displayed a wonderful work ethic and an interest in electronics, spending one summer working with NASA’s INSPIRE Nanotechnology Research program in San Juan, Puerto Rico through the STEM program at Oklahoma State University. After high school, Neil went on to work with the Avionics Department at Bell Helicopter, earning a five year achievement medal for his exceptional work and dedication.

    Neil loved photography and had a lifelong passion for fast cars, participating in local cars shows as an active member of Tri-Cities Cars and Coffee Club After Dark with his own Dodge Charger. He was also a member of Civil Air Patrol, graduating as a Cadet Major, and was a member of Celebration Church. In his spare time, Neil also enjoyed geology and hiking.

    Those left to remember and cherish Neil’s memory include his mother, Carolyn Ledford Good and her husband Sean Good, of Elizabethton; his sister, Allison Ledford Davies and her husband Harry Davies, of Kingsport; his brother, Jared Ledford, of Jonesborough; his grandparents, Janette Mann, of Elizabethton, Jana Simpson, of Johnson City, and Dennis Ledford Sr. and his wife, Donna Graybeal Ledford, of Gray; his uncle, Dale Ledford, of Johnson City; and his aunts, Teresa Treadway, Lisa Germaine, and her husband Dan Germaine, all of Elizabethton; and Jennifer Ledford France and her husband Dean, of Jonesborough. Several other extended family members also survive.

    A service to honor and celebrate Neil’s life and memory will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2022 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton, Tennessee with Pastor Robert Russell of Celebration Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Saturday.

    The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Josh Banks of Shepherd’s Rock Bible Church officiating. Active pallbearers will be Harry Davies, Chris Birchfield, Tim Compton, Caleb Meade, Dale Ledford, and Kurt Germaine. Neil’s friends and coworkers from Bell Helicopter will serve as honorary pallbearers.
