    Norman P. Davis, 64, died at the home at Hopson Monday afternoon at four o'clock after an illness of two months. Mr. Davis was a native of North Carolina but has made his home at hopson for the past four years. He was a member of the Little Mountain Baptist Church at Hopson. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Docia Davis; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Peters and Mrs. Gladys Cardin of Hampton, two sons, Carl S. Davis of Hopson and Ira Prentice Davis of Los Angeles, Cal; three grand-children, Norma Adele Davis of California, Sandra K. Peters and Madaline Rose Cardin of Hampton; four sisters, Mrs Sallie Bentley of Newland, N.C., Mrs Mary Jane Childress, Taylorsville, N.C., Mrs. Rebecca Campbell of Roan Mountain, Miss Ella Davis of Statesville, N.C.; one brother, Jackson Davis of Taylorsville, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted from the Little Mountain Baptist Church Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock with the Rev. George Westmoreland in charge assisted by the Rev. W.M. Butler and Rev. Johnson. Burial will be in the Lacey cemetery. The body will be removed from the Roy Hathaway Funeral Home this afternoon to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Peters at Hampton.     Notes:

    HAMPTON - Kay Hill, age 80, of Hampton, went home to be with her Lord and rejoin her husband on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from Sycamore Shoals Hospital, following a short illness. Kay was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Charles and Emma Davis Peters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Hill on May 12, 2015; two nephews, Robert Stocton and Neil Moody.

    Kay was a 1954 graduate of Hampton High School and retired from Sperry/Unisys after 30 years of service. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Hampton and enjoyed reading, gardening, genealogy and local history. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Debbie Jones and husband Tony, of Pittsboro, NC, Valarie Smith, of Unicoi, TN, and Kathy Leonard, of Johnson City; two grandchildren, Andrew Jones and Allison Jones, all of Pittsboro, NC; a brother, Charlie Peters and wife Missy, of Unicoi, TN; two sisters, Jane Shouse Rainbolt and husband Ken, of Hampton and Pat Stocton, of Charlotte, NC; her sisters-in-law, Jane Lyons, of Elizabethton, Mary Shultz and husband Bill, of Lenoir City, TN, and Susie Moody and husband Bob, of Butler, TN; one brother-in-law, John Hill and wife Frieda, of Hampton, TN; her nieces and nephews, Cindy Cline, Jeff Stocton, Nikki Foster, Laura Church, Chris Peters, Leslie Forrester, Lester Lyons, Dana Lyons, Brian Buckner, Terry Hughes, Brian Hill, Jason Hill, Cynthia Noles, and Billy Shultz; several great nieces and nephews also survive.

    A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Kay Hill will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. David Montgomery and Lula Belle Street, Chaplain, officiating. Music will be provided by Alan Foster. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Tuesday; or at the residence at any time.

    The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in the John Whitehead Cemetery in Hampton. Active pallbearers will be George Roberson, Frank Cates, George Collins, Brian Buckner, Kenneth Rainbolt, Lester Lyons, Jackie Peters, and Chris Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Lewis, Jr., Roy Lacey, Randy Lewis, Jimmy Jones, Lewis Whitehead, R. C. Hamilton, Junior Tolley, Rex Lewis, Alan Foster, Eddie Orr, Tommy Church and Erby Jones. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM on Wednesday.

    Sandra married Herman Hill on 18 Mar 1961 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Herman (son of Dannie Harmon Hill and Rettie Collins) was born about 1936 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 12 May 2015 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee; was buried in John Whitehead Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennessee.     Patsy Peters Stocton, 80, formerly of Charlotte, N.C., and currently of Johnson City, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Carter County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Charles Peters and Emma Davis Peters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, SSG Robert E. Stocton, and one sister, Kay Hill.
    Patsy was a graduate of Hampton High School and grew up attending Union Baptist Church in Hampton, Tenn. She moved to Charlotte, N.C., where she had lived for 51 years. She was a bookkeeper for Harris Teeter and a Claims Representative for Travelers Insurance. She loved to read and work puzzles.
    She is survived by her children, Cynthia Cline and husband Danny, and Jeffrey Stocton and wife Gina; five grandchildren, Jessica Cline Peterson and husband Lee, Stacey Stocton Proffitt and husband Seth, Matthew Stocton and wife Ashleigh, Veda Lane, and Grayson Stocton; three great-grandchildren, Everett Proffitt, Kayleigh Stocton, Kamden Stocton, and one great-grandchild on the way; one brother, Charles Wayne Peters and wife Missy; one sister, Janey Rainbolt and husband Kenneth; and several nieces and nephews.
    A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
