    ...Ode Campbell, 61, Route 2, Butler, died in Carter County Hospital Saturday at 8 a.m. after an illness of two weeks.
    He was a life-long resident of Johnson County and the son of the late George and Naomi Finney Campbell.
    He was the owner of Campbell's Grocery Store and Service Station. He was a member of the Meadowview Baptist Church and had served as treasurer for a number of years.
    Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Fay Dugger Campbell; one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Trivette, Route 2; one son, Raymond Campbell.
    Funeral services were conducted from the Meadowview Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dayton Jones, Rev. Alvin Hick and the Rev. Keene Roark officiating. Music in charge of the Clyde Cornett Quartet. Active pallbearers were Delmas and George Bunton; J.C. and Jack Campbell, Tommy Conway, David Dugger, Bill Cable, J.B. and Ralph Evans. Burial was in the Bunton Cemetery.
    Hathaway-Percy in charge.

    Notes:

    BUTLER — Selma Campbell Trivette, age 83, 228 Meadowview Church Rd, Butler, went to be with her Lord Saturday, May 10, 2008, in the Johnson County Community Hospital following a brief illness.

    A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Ode and Fay Dugger Campbell. Mrs. Trivette was a graduate of the Watauga Academy, and spent the majority of her life as a homemaker lovingly taking care of her husband and children. She was a devoted member and past Sunday school teacher at Meadowview Baptist Church.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vance L. Trivette, Sr. and an infant son, Wesley Trivette.

    She is survived by two daughters, Linda Harrison and husband, Elwin "Sonny," and Carolyn Arnold and husband, Ross, all of Mountain City; two sons, Lowell Trivette and wife, Glenda, of Elk Park, NC, and Vance L. Trivette, Jr. and wife, Laura, of Marion, NC; a granddaughter, Amy Oliver and husband, Kevin, Mountain City; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Carroll and husband, David, and Greg Berryhill, all of Marion, NC; three step-great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Anna, and Meredith Carroll, all of Marion, NC; a brother, Raymond Campbell and wife, Anna Ruth, of Butler; and special friends, JoAnne Cable, Kathy Hartley, and Tina Clawson, all of Butler. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    A funeral service for Mrs. Selma Trivette will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in the Meadowview Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Jones, Rev. Charles Worley, and Rev. Russell Potter officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Meadowview Baptist Church choir. The graveside service and interment will follow immediately in the Dugger Family Cemetery in the Buntontown Community.

    Active pallbearers will be Randy Dugger, Bobby Hartley, Richard Trivette, Bill Trivette, Delmas Bunton, Greg Berryhill, and Carroll Hartley.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, May 12, 2008, in the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home or at the home of her daughter, Carolyn Arnold, 500 Tom Phillippi Rd, Mountain City, other times.

    Selma married Vance Lincoln Trivette on 4 Sep 1947 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Vance (son of Linzy James Trivette and Sarah Ann Hartley) was born on 2 Sep 1917 in , Avery County, North Carolina, ; died on 3 Dec 1988 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Buried:
    Raymond Campbell, 86, passed away on February 9, 2022 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton, Tenn. Raymond was born on January 2, 1936 in Buntontown to the late Ode Campbell and Fay Dugger Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Ruth Campbell, and his sister, Selma Trivette.
    Raymond enjoyed farming and raising his cattle and tobacco. He worked at Bemberg and also drove a school bus for the Carter County School System for over 30 years. He loved cheering on the Tennessee Vols and the Atlanta Braves. Raymond was an active member of the Roan Creek Masonic Lodge #679 and Butler Eastern Star #218. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason and a Jericho Shriner.
    Raymond loved his family and the Lord. He served as a deacon for many years at Meadowview Baptist Church.
    Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter, Tamy Duffield and husband Michael; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joyce Walsh, Bill Walsh and wife Doris, Margaret Walsh and Gerry Walsh; paternal nieces and nephews, Linda Harrison and husband Sonny, Carolyn Arnold, Lowell Trivette and wife Glenda and Vance Trivette and wife Laura; special cousin, Claude Campbell; several other nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Peanut and Pixie.
    The graveside service for Raymond will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 11, at the Dugger Family Cemetery with Pastor Richard Jones officiating. Masonic services will be provided by the Roan Creek Masonic Lodge #679. Pallbearers will be Rick Campbell, David Campbell, Kyle Evans, Gary Evans, Steve Walsh, Eric Fagan and Jamie Walsh. Honorary pallbearers are Lowell Trivette, Vance Trivette, Bill Walsh, Sonny Harrison, JR Bunton, Delmas Bunton, George Bunton and Ray Evans.
