    Notes:

    Grover Bowers, age 76, of Elizabethton went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from the Sycamore Shoals Hospital, following an extended illness. Grover was a native of Carter County and a son of the late John Arthur Bowers and Sallie C. Williams Bowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Juanita Bowers, Mae Smith, Josie Buckles Hyder and Ceola Bowers; and three brothers, Floyd Bowers, Herrell Clifford Bowers and Luther Bowers.

    Grover retired from Alcoa after 25 years of service, and was a former employee of East Tennessee Chair Company. He was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church.

    He is survived by his sister, Hildred Bowers, of the home; and several nieces and nephews.

    It was his wish to be cremated and there will be no immediate services. Those who wish, may sign the register book at Tetrick Funeral Home.

    The family would like to express a special thank you to members of Blue Springs Christian Church, friends and neighbors, and the doctors and staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

    Buried:
    Denise Blevins, 68, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. She was the daughter of the late Luther Bowers and Bonnie Meyers. Denise was a sweet and funny person who loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed working puzzles, reading, watching movies and collecting Coca-Cola polar bears. Denise was of the Christian faith.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Blevins.
    Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Gary Bowers (Kevin) of Texas, Misty Nickels (Arthur) of Elizabethton and Randall Blevins of Elizabethton; siblings, Lynn Bowers, Terri Scott, Sherri Graybeal and Chris Bowers; one great-grandchild, Dixie Canter; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
    A graveside service to honor the life of Denise Blevins will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, in the Garland Cemetery, Erwin, Tenn.
