    Mrs. Velma L. Ensor Davis, 86, Pine Ridge Health Center, formerly of 171 Davis Hollow Road, Elizabethton died Friday, March 16, 2007 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Kress Ensor. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and she was a member of Dungan's Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Clark Davis; a brother, Ivan Ensor; a sister, Moilee Lewis and a half-brother, Ebbie Kress. Survivors include a daughter, Vanessa McQueen, Elizabethton; a son, Eddie D. Davis, Clayton, NC; two grandchildren, Richard E. Davis, Clayton, NC and Rachel E. Davis, Chapel Hill, NC ; three sisters, Ida Connley, Chicago, IL; Ella Mae Bishop and Jessaline Ensor, both of Elizabethton and four brothers, Robert Ensor, Aubrey Ensor, Glen Ensor and Dennie Ensor, all of Elizabethton. Funeral service for Mrs. Velma L. Ensor Davis will be conducted at 4:30 P.M. Sunday, March 18, 2007 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. David Arney. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 19, 2007 in the Davis Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be nephews and friends.

    Ella Mae Ensor Bishop, 83, Elizabethton entered into rest, Monday, August 13, 2012 at the residence of her daughter.

    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Kress Ensor. She was a retired school teacher. Mrs Bishop was a 1948 graduate of Unaka High School and received a BS Degree in Elementary Education from Milligan College. She had taught at Unaka Elementary, Buladean Elementary and Midway Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Carter County Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Bishop was a member of the Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Chalmer Bishop, two sisters: Velma Davis and Moilee Lewis and three brothers: Elbert Kress, Robert and Ivan Ensor.

    Survivors include a daughter & son-in-law: Dinah & Richard Babb, Elizabethton. Two Grandchildren: Amanda Estep and husband Rickey, James Babb and wife Ashley. One Great Grandson: Clayton Estep. Two Sisters: Jesselene Ensor, Elizabethton and Ida Connelly, Chicago, Illinois. Three Brothers: Dennie, Glenn and Aubrey Ensor all of Elizabethton. Several nieces & nephews.

    Graveside Services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in the Kress Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    Aubrey Frank Ensor, 88, Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, December 17, 2019. He was born September 06, 1931, to John and Mary Kress Ensor, Elizabethton, Tennessee, where he grew up. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War Conflict. He was retired from Tri-State Container. He was an avid sportsman and loved to fish, hunt, and watch sports.

    He was a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church where he loved his Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Ida Connelly, Velma Davis, Rob Ensor, Ivan Ensor, Moilee Lewis, Ella Mae Bishop, and Glen Ensor. He is survived by a brother Dennie Ensor and sister Jesseline Ensor.

    Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Onnie Jemema Lowe Ensor. His children, Sandra and husband Mike Patrick, Clarksville, Tn. Debbie Heaton and husband Eric, Elizabethton, Amy and husband Tank Morrell, Elizabethton and Audra and husband David Wood, Elizabethton. He loved his four grandchildren Brittany Heaton, Cody and Sasha Cornett, Chelsea Wood, Matthew Wood and fiancée Chelsea Grubb. The family would like to express a special thank you to his special friend Paul and Lenice Taylor.

    The family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. and the Funeral Service will follow at 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 20, 2019, with son-in-law Pastor Eric Heaton and grandson Rev. Matthew Wood, officiating. Pallbearers will be Donald Ensor, John Ensor, Jeff Lewis, Lee Martin, Gary Morrell and Paul Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers include The Men's Sunday School Class of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. Music will be provided by Mrs. Joyce Salyer, soloist. Graveside Service and interment will be at 11 a.m. at the Kress Cemetery.

    Glen Ensor, 85, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the residence of his daughter after a brief illness.
    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late John and Mary Kress Ensor.
    Glen served in the United States Army and was a retired employee of Inland Container after 36 years of service. He was an active member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Velma Davis, Ida Conley, Ella Mae Bishop and Moilee Lewis, and three brothers, Ivan Ensor, Robert Ensor and Elbert Kress.
    Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Pauline Wilson Ensor; a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Mick Kyte, Blountville; one granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Kyte; one sister, Jesselene Ensor; two brothers, Aubrey and Denny Ensor; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services for Glen Ensor will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, in the Wilson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be his church family, former employees of Inland Container and his special friend, Hope Pearson.

    A native of Carter County, Aunt Shotty, as everyone called her, was the daughter of the late John and Mary Kress Ensor. She was a life-long homemaker. Shotty loved to garden, sew, play the piano, and cook. She left behind a legacy of love and compassionate care that she provided to multiple family members, including her parents and siblings. She was of the Baptist faith.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine siblings, Velma Davis, Ida Conley, Ella Mae Bishop, Moilee Lewis, Aubrey Ensor, Robert Ensor, Elbert Ensor, Ivan Ensor and Glen Ensor.
    Survivors include her only living brother, Dennie and wife Ruby; one sister-in-law, Jemema Ensor; several nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews and a special great-great-nephew, Clayton Estep.
    The graveside service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, in the Kress Cemetery, in Hurley Hollow, with Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. Music will be provided by Eric and Debbie Heaton. Active pallbearers are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 4:45 p.m. Pallbearers will be Matthew Wood, Ricky Estep, Jeff Lewis, James “Tank” Morrell, Donald Ensor and Johnny Ensor. Honorary pallbearers will include James Babb, Mick Kyte and her other surviving nieces and nephews. A special “Thank You” to a special niece, Dinah and Rick Babb, and their daughter, Amanda, for providing her care at the end of her life. Also, a special thank you to Eddie Dean Davis, wife Precilla, and Caris Healthcare for the excellent care she received.
