James Floyd Markland, 90, 1126 Bluefield Avenue, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at the residence of a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. David R. Markland, Elizabethton.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Charles David and Bertha Elizabeth Jordan Markland. Mr. Markland had lived in Michigan for 28 years before returning to Elizabethton in 1999. He was a retired pipe fitter with General Motors in Detroit. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #22, Detroit. Mr. Markland was also a member of the West Gate Cyrus Masonic Lodge #520 of West Branch, Mich. He was a member of the Southside Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his second wife, Eva Caroline Slone-Markland in 1998 (who died in Michigan); by a son, James H. Markland (Viet-Nam), and a sister, Carrie Markland.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia and Edward Hester, Johnson City, and Elizabeth Owens, Orange Park, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, David R. and Nioka Markland, of the home; two sisters, Louise Deloach and Janelle Nidiffer, both of Elizabethton; three brothers, George "Ed" Markland and Bobby J. Markalnd, both of Elizabethton, and Howard Markland, Flushing, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Notes:

Louise Markland Deloach, 88, Walker Street, Elizabethton, went to be with her
Heavenly Father Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in the Johnson City Medical Center
after a brief illness.

Mrs. Deloach was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late
Charlie and Bertha Jordan Markland. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Lester "Buck" Deloach, two brothers, Floyd
and Harry Markland, and a sister, Carrie Markland. Mrs. Deloach retired from
the Bemberg Corporation. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church
and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Sue and Terry McKinney and
Genia Jenkins, all of Elizabethton; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Mary
Deloach, Elizabethton; three brothers, Bobby Joe Markland and Ed Markland,
both of Elizabethton, and Howard Markland, Flushing, Mich.; a sister, Janelle
Nidiffer, Elizabethton; a sister-in-law, Opal Deloach, Elizabethton; six
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a
very special friend, Lola Eller.

Funeral services for Mrs. Deloach will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, March
18, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cecil "Nick" Bradshaw and Rev. Elmer
Carter officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Phil Poston. Interment will
be at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to
assemble at the funeral chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday, will be Jeff McKinney,
Mike Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, Gary Deloach, Ricky Markland, Mark Markland and
Buddy Farmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry McKinney, Arvil McKinney,
Pink McKinney, Roy McKinney, Randy Markland and Lynn Markland. The family will
receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. Friends may
call at the residence at anytime.

Ada married Lester Clarence "Buck" DeLoach about 1939 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Lester (son of William J. DeLoach and Sarah Ida Blackburn) was born on 9 Mar 1916 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died in Apr 1981 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Happy Valley Memorial Park, , Carter County, Tennessee. Florence married Claud J. Nidiffer, Jr. about 1945 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Claud (son of Claud A. Nidiffer and Nellie B. Fair) was born on 15 Dec 1921 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 3 Jun 1948 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Highland Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennessee. JOHNSON CITY - Ms. Vicki Lynn Markland, age 71, of Johnson City, TN, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019.

Ms. Markland was a native of Elizabethton, TN. She had lived in Johnson City most of her life. Vicki was the daughter of the late George Edward Markland and Wanda Mae Clark Markland. She was a Christian and a member of First Christian Church, Johnson City, TN. Vicki was retired from Citi, Gray, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ricky Markland and Randy Markland.

Those left to cherish her memory include a brother, Mark Markland and his wife Angie, of Elizabethton; a niece, Mallory Howell and her husband, Matt; two great nephews, Jackson and Walker Howell, all of Johnson City; an aunt Betty Chambers, of Elizabethton; several cousins also survive.

A special thanks to her friends and church family for all the support shown to her during her illness.

Funeral services for Ms. Vicki Lynn Markland will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Donald Mushayamunda, Minister, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 – 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the Highland Cemetery, Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

Mr. Randy Markland, age 63, of Elizabethton passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Elizabethton, he was the son of the late George Edward and Wanda Mae Clark Markland. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War era.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Markland. Survivors include a sister, Vicki Markland, Johnson City; a brother, Mark Markland and wife Angie, Elizabethton; a niece, Mallory Howell and husband Matt, Johnson City; two aunts, Betty Chambers and Anna Sue Clark, both of Elizabethton and an uncle, Howard Markland, Michigan. Several cousins also survive.

Funeral service for Mr. Randy Markland will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Friday, December 28, 2012 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. on Friday prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow the service in Highland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
