    Buried:
    Maude P. Simerly, 93, Ford Lane, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness.
    A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lola Ellis Peeks.
    Mrs. Simerly was a member of Borderview Christian Church and was a homemaker.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert E. Simerly, August 17, 1998, and a son, Howard E. Simerly, January 3, 1993 and several brothers and sisters.
    Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Helen M. Simerly, Piney Flats; Florence Pearce, Elizabethton; Mary Lou and Ronald Kilby, Johnson City; two brothers, Tommy Peeks, Elizabethton, and Claude Peeks, Kingsport; five grandchildren, Jeff Pearce, Lisa McDowell and Terri Lynn Simerly, all of Elizabethton; Angela Bishop, Jonesborough, and Scotty Kilby, Johnson City; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Pearce and Justin Pearce, both of Elizabethton; Haley Bishop and Tyler Elizabeth Bishop, both of Jonesborough, and one daughter-in-law, Linda Simerly, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    The funeral service for Maude P. Simerly will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Jeff Pearce and Mr. Billy Manuel, Ministers, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Ray Don Markland, Ruth Ann Cullop, and Scott Reynolds. The graveside service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2004 at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

    Maude married Hobart Emerson Simerly about 1932 in , Giles County, Tennessee, . Hobart (son of Daniel Andrew Simerly and Biddie Carver) was born on 27 Dec 1911 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 17 Aug 1998; was buried in Mountain Home National Cemetery, , Washington County, Tennessee.     Buried:
    Florence Ella Pearce, 86, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Florence was born in Elizabethton to the late Hobart Emerson Simerly and Maude Peeks Simerly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Cecil Pearce, and a brother, Howard Simerly.
    Florence was a charter member of East River Park Christian Church and also a member of Borderview Christian Church. Florence had worked as a graphic designer for Arcadia Graphics and enjoyed traveling to the beach, line dancing, painting, cooking and catering weddings. Her greatest joy came from spending time and loving on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they were her greatest joy!
    Those left to cherish Florenceā€™s memory include her son, Jeff Pearce of Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Jordan (Emily) Pearce of Kingsport and Justin (Amanda) Kilby of Jonesborough; three great-grandchildren, Baylee Pearce, Brooklyn Pearce and James Pearce; and two sisters, Helen Simerly of Elizabethton and Mary Lou Kilby of Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Florence Ella Pearce will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at Borderview Christian Church with Mr. Scott Fisher, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Scott Reynolds and Ray Don Markland. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 until 7 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, or at the residence at any time. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jordan Pearce, Justin Kilby, Raymond Morton, Scotty Kilby, Scott Reynolds and Joel Norris. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Borderview Christian Church.
