    Minnie Frances Arnold, age 93, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on January 4, 1925 to the late Felix B. Mink and Effie Pearson Mink. In addition to her parents Frances was preceded in death by her husband Rev. George F. Arnold; daughters, Nancy Brewer and Helen Morefield; twin sister, Pearl Proffitt; several half-sisters and half-brothers; grandchild, Devin Morefield; sons-in-law, CR Roark and James Morefield and nephew, Jerry Dugger.

    Frances was a gifted quilter and made many beautiful quilts through the years. Like most people of her generation she also farmed and raised vegetable gardens, which she loved. Frances also enjoyed working in her flower gardens, singing and reading her Bible. After her health declined she was not able to do a lot of these things but she still enjoyed watching some of the old shows on television, especially The Waltons. She was a member of Pine Mountain Baptist Church.

    Those left to cherish her memories include her children: Julie Mae Roark, Mary Ethel Arnold, Brenda Reece and husband Barry and Melissa Rupard and husband Jeff, Bobby Eugene Arnold and wife Vickie, Jim Arnold and wife Connie Leonard Arnold and wife Lesa; son-in-law, Don Brewer; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren; niece, Bernice Proffitt; her roommate and special friend, Bonnie Wallace and Bonnie's daughters, Eva and Gail and her Mtn. City Care Center Family.

    The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony Potter officiating. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Greene Cemetery with Pastor Rector Henson officiating. Pallbearers will be Charlie Blevins, Don Brewer, Brian Potter, John Brookshire, Ricky Morefield and Lester Dunn.

    Minnie married George Franklin Arnold on 21 Jun 1941 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee.     Leonard George Arnold, age 51, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Johnson City Medical Center. Leonard was born December 16, 1970, in Boone, NC to the late George and Minnie Frances Arnold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ethel Potter, Helen Morefield, and Nancy Brewer; brothers-in-law, James Morefield, and C.R. Roark.

    Leonard was a gifted and talented musician, able to play many different instruments. He enjoyed woodworking, and tinkering with things, and had made several instruments.

    Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 20 years, Lesa Arnold; step-children, Andrew Wallace, and Jenna Wallace; sisters, Brenda Reece (Barry) of Mountain City, Melissa Rupard (Jeff) of Laurel Bloomery, Julia Roark of West Grove, PA; brothers, Gene Arnold (Vicki) of Oxford, PA, Jim Arnold (Connie) of Mountain City; brother-in-law, Don Brewer; several nieces, nephews, and his little dog, Tug.

    The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at First Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastors Greg Poe and Gary Hill officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow at the Greene Cemetery. Pallbearers are Earl Pope Jr, Tony Potter, Dwayne Potter, Rick Morefield, Tommy Morefield, and Charlie Blevins. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Rupard, Barry Reece, Paul Liverman, his co-workers at N&N Ball Bearing, and all the fellow musicians he played with. The family would like to thank Ms. Ryan, a family advocate at JCMC, and the doctors and nurses in the IVH unit at JCMC for their kindness and compassionate care for Leonard.
