    Ray D. Nave, 82, 327 S. Lynn Avenue, Apt. #6, Elizabethton, died Monday, January 22, 2001, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
    Mr. Nave was a native of Carter County and a son of the late William David and Laura Bowers Nave. He was also preceded in death by two wives, Ruth Nave and Eva Nave.
    Mr. Nave was a siding salesman and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a Free Will Baptist.
    Survivors include a son, Larry Nave, Elizabethton; a sister, Mossie Bowers, Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Chastity Miller, Hampton; and four grandsons, Dustin Nave and Joey Nave, both of Elizabethton, Gary Nave, Cross City, Fla., and Johnny Nave, Chattanooga. One great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons also survive.


    NAVE -- Graveside services for Ray D. Nave, 82, 327 S. Lynn Avenue, Apt. #6, Elizabethton, who died Monday, January 22, 2001, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, at Monte Vista Burial Park with the Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home.

    Ray married Eva L. (Nave) about 1943 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Eva was born about 1926; died about 1992 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Monte Vista Memorial Park, , Washington County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Mossie A. Nave Bowers, 79, Life Care Center of Elizabethton, formerly
    of Lynn Avenue, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Johnson City Medical
    Center following a brief illness.

    A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late William
    "Bill" David and Laura Bowers Nave, and was married to the late Clyde
    Bowers. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ray Nave.
    Mrs. Bowers was a homemaker.

    Survivors include one daughter, Joyce A. Kelley, Johnson City; one son
    and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Frances Bowers, Elizabethton; one
    granddaughter and spouse, Joy Kelley Snyder and David Snyder, Johnson
    City; two grandsons and spouse, David Bowers and Jerry and Michelle
    Bowers, all of Elizabethton; two great-granddaughters, Sarah Bowers,
    Elizabethton, and Dreama Barnett, Johnson City; four great-grandsons,
    Michael Miller and Nicholas Mills, both of Johnson City, Samuel Bowers
    and Daniel Bowers, both of Elizabethton; and one nephew, Larry Nave.

    The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, May 14, in the
    Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with the Rev.
    Dean Presnell officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral
    home chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, prior to the funeral service.
    Friends may call at the residence of her son, Darrell Bowers, 745 Dugger
    Road, Elizabethton, any time. The graveside service and interment will
    be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Pearl Bowers Cemetery.
    Active pallbearers will be grandchildren and friends.
