    JOHNSON CITY — Walter Stanley Patrick, 90, of 780 S. Austin Springs Road, Johnson City, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at his residence.

    He was a native of Washington County and was a son of the late Rev. D. C. Patrick and Lurie Bell Greene Patrick. Mr. Patrick retired from Klopman Mills and was a World War II veteran having served in Rome, Southern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was wounded in France in 1944 and received a purple heart, four bronze stars and awarded the World War II Victory Medal.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Anne Shoun Patrick in 1994; a son, Charles Patrick; a brother, Donald Patrick; a sister, Willie Andies; an infant sister, Florence Patrick; two sisters-in-law, Theo and Rose Patrick and two brothers-in-law, Ralph Andies and Howard Grindstaff.

    Survivors include a son, Roger Patrick and a daughter, Carol Cretsinger both of Johnson City; a sister, Margaret Grindstaff of Elizabethton; two nieces, Brenda Miller and husband, Kenneth and Marie Frazier and husband, Robert all of Elizabethton; a son-in-law, David Cretsinger of Johnson City; also several other nieces and nephews.

    Graveside services for Mr. Patrick will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, April 25, 2016, in the Monte Vista Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Lyons officiating. For those attending this service, you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 PM.

    Walter married Martha Anne Shoun on 10 Oct 1946 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee. Martha (daughter of Alvin Powell Shoun and Sallie Campbell) was born on 9 Aug 1911 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 10 Dec 1994 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    ELIZABETHTON - Margaret Grindstaff, 88, Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2022. She was a native of Carter County, TN., the daughter of the late D.C. and Laurie Greene Patrick. She was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. In addition, to her parents she is preceded by her husband, Howard Grindstaff; two brother: Don and Walter Patrick and a sister Willie Andees.
    Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Robin Sams (Glen) and her two sons: Gary Grindstaff (Jennifer) and David Grindstaff (Libby). She will be missed by her grandchildren: Madison Bowman, Gary Sams, Justin Grindstaff and Ayden Grindstaff and great grandchildren: Taylor, Jarred, Patrick, Charlie, and Noah. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and two special nieces” Marie Frazier and Lois Andes.
    A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2022 at the Blevins Cemetery with Pastor Doug Hinshaw, Officiating and Justin Grindstaff and Gary Sams presenting special remarks. Active Pallbearers are requested to meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. are: Joe Bowman, Glen Sams, Steve Cannon, Jacob Cannon, Gary Sams, and Justin Grindstaff. There will be a Registration of Presence for Friends from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Signature Health and the doctors and nurses at Sycamore Shoals Hospital for the great care that was provided to Margaret.

    Margaret married Howard Grindstaff about 1954 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Howard (son of Alfred Tennessee Grindstaff and Etta Berdina Pierce) was born on 27 Nov 1932 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 5 Apr 2016 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Blevins Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennessee.     Brenda J. Patrick Miller, 76, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 5, 2019, from Johnson City Medical Center. Brenda was born in Elizabethton to the late Donald Nathaniel Patrick and Eunice Theo Garland Patrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Novella and Wilma; one great-granddaughter; and her uncle, Walter Patrick.
    Brenda was a homemaker and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
    Those left to cherish her wonderful memories include her loving and devoted husband of 36 years, Kenneth P. Miller, of the home; two sons, Dwayne Letterman and wife Priscilla, and Shannon Lowe and wife Anna; three stepsons, Burnie Lowe, Anthony Miller and Kenneth Wayne Miller and wife Jessica; her grandchildren, Samara Letterman and Shane, Sean Letterman, Cody and Aaron Lowe, Zach, Dakota and Nathan Miller and Katelyn; and her special cousins, as well as her aunt, Margaret Grindstaff.
    A service to celebrate the life of Brenda J. Patrick Miller will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Richard Hilton, Mr. Ron Lee and Mr. Robbie Hilton officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, in the Forbes Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be the boys that hung out at Brenda's house in Eastside: George White, Jimmy Wandell and Jimmy Jones. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Friday. A special thank you from Brenda: to Ron and Debbie Lee for allowing me to work in the outreach ministry of Calvary Church and Carl and Cathy Miller for the pleasure of sharing God's word with homeless people. It was Brenda's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Forbes Cemetery for the upkeep of my grave space, my Mother's and two sisters' grave spaces.
