    Louise Eggers Whitehead, 75, Roan Mountain, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born August 27, 1939 in Boone, North Carolina to Arlie & Mae Eggers. She had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a 1957 graduate of Unaka High School. Louise was retired from the Carter County School System as a Teacher's Aide in the special Education. She was a member of the Little Mountain Baptist Church where she had served as Sunday School Secretary for several years. Her hobbies were cooking, gardening, feeding the birds and working in her flowers.
    Survivors include her husband of 36 years Leon Whitehead. Three Sisters: Ava Nell Morley and her husband J.B., Carolyn Pierce and Glenda Parks all of Elizabethton. One Brother: Cecil Eggers and wife Phyllis, Elizabethton. Several nieces & nephews.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eric Eggers and Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Sunday will be: Chris Whitehead, James Morley, Ronnie Townsend, Jeff Presnell, Jason Presnell, Travis Eggers, Michael, McKinney and Mark McKinney. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Mike Blevins, Darren Lacy, Raymond Hill, Larry Woody, Estill Whitehead, Jerry Cole, Cecil Largent and DeLaney Berry. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the Staff of Mtn. States Cancer Center, Dr. Jaishankar & Nurse Whitney and the 2nd Floor ICU Staff for the excellent care she received. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Louise to the American Cancer Society % Lou Cooter, 415 Washington Avenue, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence.

    ELIZABETHTON - Loy “Carolyn” Eggers Pierce, age 77, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born in North Carolina to the late Arlie Eggers and Mae Eggers. Carolyn was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing games, reading her bible and working crossword puzzles.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Eugene Pierce; sister, Louise Whitehead and brother, Cecil Eggers. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kimberly Woodring and husband Mickey; two grandchildren, Matthew Woodring and Rebecca Woodring, and two sisters, Ava Nell Morley and husband J.B. and Glenda Parks, all of Elizabethton.
    A funeral service to celebrate the life of Loy “Carolyn” Eggers Pierce will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. prior to the service on Thursday.
    The graveside services will be private in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family. Honorary pallbearers will be Dallas Pierce, Gerald Buckles and Danny Boy Davis.

    ELIZABETHTON - Jerry “Cecil” Eggers, age 75, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord on Monday, January 24, 2022 from the Hillview Health and Rehab Center. Cecil was born in Boone, North Carolina to the late James Arlie Eggers and Mae Belle Eggers. In addition to his parents, Cecil is also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Louise Whitehead.
    Cecil had worked at many different jobs including truck driving and also as a Funeral Director with Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton and Hathaway Percy Funeral and Cremation Services in Elizabethton. He was a joy to work for and always provided comfort to all the families he served. Cecil was a member of Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church where he served in the choir and a former member of Hunter First Baptist Church where he had served as both a deacon and a choir member. Cecil will be remembered most for his quick wit and his compassion toward others. He was an integral part of his family, his church family and his work family and friends and will be missed tremendously.
    Those left to cherish Cecil’s legacy and memories include his loving and devoted wife, Phyllis Reeser Eggers of the home; his sons, Travis (Lorrie) Eggers of Blountville and Eric (Penny) Eggers of Dacula, Georgia; his grandchildren, McKenzie (Todd) Caldwell of Elizabethton, Cody (Kayla) Eggers also of Elizabethton, Karra Davis of Watertown, New York, Lexi Eggers, Bailee (Hunter) Bullock and Ally Eggers all of Dacula, Georgia and Chloe Hambrick of Elizabethton, whom he considered his granddaughter; his great grandchildren, Brycen Eggers, Reid Caldwell, Callie Caldwell, Cainan Eggers, Cohen Eggers and Kyson Eggers all of Elizabethton; his sisters, Ava Nell Morely, Carolyn Pierce and Glenda Parks all of Elizabethton; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joy and Floyd Reeser of Elizabethton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends also survive.
    A service to celebrate and honor the life of Cecil Eggers will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home Elizabethton with Reverend Jamie Ferguson and Reverend Rusty Verran officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Ferguson Family and Carol Roberts, pianist. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday. The service will be livestreamed.     The committal and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 28, 2022 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Cody Eggers, Todd Caldwell, Hunter Bulllock, Seth James, Kevin Minton, Anthony Buck and Brycen Eggers. Frank Childers and Lawrence Hodge will service as honorary pallbearers.
