    Georgia Massengill Warren, age 100, of Bluff City passed away peacefully Sunday March 6, 2016 at the home of her daughter Nancy W. Taylor.

    Georgia was born November 8, 1915 to George and Margaret Massengill in Bluff City, TN, on Southern Valley Farm. She was one of six girls. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Margaret Massengill, husband Paul A. Warren, daughter; Edith L. Davis, Son-In-Law; Coy Davis, sisters; Irene Wagner, Edith Quinn, Betty Ann Morrell, Mabel Southwick and Margaret Rutter.

    She is survived by her daughter; Nancy W. Taylor, Grandchildren; Myers Davis of Schererville, IN, Timothy W. Davis and wife Lee Ann of Johnson City, Gregg A. Taylor and wife Sandra of Clinton, TN and Eric P. Taylor and wife Misti of Bluff City, half sister; Linda Kay Finney of Bluff City, great step granddaughter; Kayla Rushing of Wilmington, NC, great step grandson; Morgan Estes of Oak Ridge, TN, along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

    She was a loving wife to Paul Warren for 49 years, a charter member of First Christian Church of Bluff City and an avid farmer, gardener and substitute teacher. She loved flowers and tended her garden and flower beds till the age of 97. She loved music and singing in the choir at church. At the age of 12, she sang with the Tennessee Mountaineers and the performed on August 2, 1927 at the Bristol Recording Sessions by Ralph Peer, they recorded two songs that can still be heard on the Bristol Sessions. She is the last performer of the Bristol Sessions to pass away.

    A service to honor the life of Georgia will be held Tuesday, March 8,2016 at 8 pm at Tetrick Funeral Home – Bluff City Chapel, visitation will be prior to the service from 6 – 8pm. Graveside services will Wednesday 9, 2016 at 11 am at Morrell Cemetery in Bluff City those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50am. Pastor Tim Carlson of Walnut Grove Christian Church and Tom Edwards will be officiating, music will under the direction of Kris Carlson.

    Active pallbearers will be John Holsclaw Sr., John Holsclaw Jr., Jerry Morrell, Darrell Taylor, Anthony Comer and Mason Sherve. Honorary pallbearers: Tony Morrell, Michael Morrell, Wayne Torbett, Dean Torbett, Don Warren, Brady Harkleroad and Gerald Utsman.

    In lieu of flower memorials, contributions can be made to the Birthplace of Country Music Museum
