    JONESBOROUGH - Mildred Faye Greene 82, of Jonesborough passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 after an extended illness.

    Mrs. Greene was born in Unicoi County and the daughter of the late Henry Clay & Alma Julia Jenkins Casey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Greene, three brothers, one sister and one great-granddaughter.

    Mildred retired from the Town of Jonesborough after twenty-five + years.

    She is survived by three sons, Dr. Richard Greene Jr. and wife Janice of Florida, Randy Greene and wife Tonya of Erwin, and Marty Greene; two sisters, Janice Garland (Don) and Sharon Rogers (Danny); five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Dillow- Taylor Funeral Home. The service will follow at 2:00 with Rev. Timothy Rogers officiating.

    Interment will follow at Bumpass Cove Cemetery Erwin TN.

    Pallbearers will be Mike McCracken, Jimmy Neese, and Tyler Briggs.

    Connie Jane Casey Purcott went home to the Lord after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, March 26th, at the VA Medical Center in Johnson City.

    Connie was the daughter of the late Howard Casey and Barbara Ann Nelson Casey of Jonesborough. Beloved wife and mother, Connie is survived by her husband, Robert J. Purcott of Johnson City; sons, Erik C. Purcott of the home and Joshua A. Purcott of Johnson City; brothers, Paul Casey, Lynn Casey (Kara) and Ronnie Casey of Jonesborough, as well as several nieces and nephews.

    A veteran of The U.S. Army, Connie served as a medical technologist at Fort Sam Houston in Texas and later worked at UT Medical Center in Knoxville and the VA Medical Center in Johnson City.

    Connie was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and enjoyed cooking and the outdoors.

    A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 29th at 2:30 at the National Cemetery (Mountain Home)
