MRS. SARAH E. SCALF
Mrs. Sarah E. Scalf, 82, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. M. Large, 319 Broad Street, Saturday at 10:20 a.m. after a short illness.
Mrs. Scalf was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Large, Miss Donna Scalf, Mrs. M. R. Roger of Elizabethton and Mrs. James L. Gregg of Johnson City; 21 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 4:00 o'clock from the First Christian Church wit the Rev. Fred Smith in charge, assisted by the Rev. Dampler and the Rev. E. A. Hoffman.
Music will be under the direction of Mrs. N. T. Williams and Mrs. Raymond Huskins.
Burial will be made in Highland Cemetery.
The body was returned to the home of Mrs. Large Saturday afternoon.
Active pallbearers will be the grandsons.
Flower bearers will be the Priscilla Circle of the First Christian Church and Mrs. T. J. Mims, Mrs. C. E. Smith, Mrs. Minnie Smith and Mrs. Estep.
Roy Hathaway Funeral Home is in charge.

Margaret married William Martin Large on 16 Jun 1922 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. William (son of Martin Large and Nancey E. "Nannie" Martin) was born on 3 May 1886 in Hawkins County, , , Tennessee; died on 26 Dec 1950 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Mountain Home National Cemetery, , Washington County, Tennessee. Virginia Ann Large Eller, 86, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Elizabethton, she was a daughter of the late William Martin and Margaret Scalf Large.
Virginia was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and Elizabethton Business College. She was associated with her husband in the operation of Eller Tire Company until their retirement. She was a member of East River Park Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Charles M. Eller, who died May 22, 2015; a daughter, Kathy Ann Honeycutt; and three sisters, Ruth Elmore, Evelyn Snavely and Billie Dolan.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Kela M. Collins, Dustin Hurley and Lindsay Hurley, and eight great-grandchildren, Brittney Collins, Taylor Collins, Jordan Collins, Leah Hurley, Alyesa Hurley, Tyler Guinn, Caitlyn Guinn and Jaiden Sayers.
It was her wish to be cremated and no services held.
