    Josephine Ritchie Williams, age 94, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, in the Pine Ridge Care Center, following an extended illness. Josephine was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Barnal Allen and Mary Ettie Nichols Ritchie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. Williams; an infant brother; three sisters, Ethel Robinson, Beulah Smith and Anna Lee Lewis; and a special grandson by marriage, Billy Wayne Hilton.

    Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.

    Survivors include three sons, Ed Williams and wife Charlotte, Darrell Williams and wife Barbara, and Harold Williams, all of Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Kathy Hilton and her friend, George Shoun, Ann Andrews and husband James, and Darrell Wayne Williams and wife Donna, all of Elizabethton; four great grandchildren, Jeffery “Skeeter” Bowers, Billy “Peanut” Hilton, Kelly JoMae Hilton, and Jamie Andrews. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    The family requests the comfort and honor of your presence at the funeral service for Mrs. Josephine Williams on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the Riverside Chapel at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Carl Grindstaff and Rev. Brian Smith, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday; or at the residence of a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Charlotte Williams, 112 Crestview Drive, Elizabethton, at anytime.

    The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Shepard, Billy Hilton, George Shoun, Jacob Wilson, James Andrews, and Paul Scalf, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be all her neighbors and friends in Black Bottom.

    Harold "Big John" Williams, 70, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016, at Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, following a brief illness. He was born in Carter County to the late Clarence C. Williams and Josephine Ritchie Williams.
    "Big John" had worked in the furniture industry and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He enjoyed eating breakfast with his buddies at City Market and Nancy's Kitchen and especially enjoyed going to the Carter County Cruise Ins on Saturdays.
    Those left to cherish his memory include two brothers, his twin brother, Darrell Williams and wife Barbara, and Clarence Ed Williams and wife Charlotte, all of Elizabethton; two cousins, Frances Stoneburner and Vernon Robinson, both of Maryland; one nephew, Darrell Wayne Williams, Elizabethton; two nieces, Melissa Ann Andrews and husband James and Kathy Lynn Hilton, all of Elizabethton; two great-nephews, Jeffrey "Sketter" Bowers and Billy Wayne Hilton Jr., both of Elizabethton; two great-nieces, Kelly Joe May Hilton and Jamie Andrews, both of Elizabethton; and a special buddy, Jessie James Wallace, Elizabethton.
    A service to honor the life of Harold "Big John" Williams will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, March 7, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Rev. Carl Grindstaff and Rev. Doug Hinshaw officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, prior to the service, or at the residence of his brother, Ed Williams, 112 Crestview Drive, Elizabethton, at anytime. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 10:15 a.m.
    Tuesday to go in procession. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Stephen May and the nurses and staff of Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center for the love and care shown to "Big John" during his illness.

    Darrell Williams, 77, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Clarence C. and Josephine Ritchie Williams. Darrell was an Auto Body Detailer. He loved having muscles cars and going to the car show. He was of the Christian Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Harold Williams, and a great-nephew, Billy “Peanut” Hilton. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Barbara Forbes Williams; a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell Wayne and Donna Williams; a grandson, Chris Whitehead; his brother and his wife, Clarence E. (Charlotte) Williams; two nieces, Kathy Hilton and Ann (James) Andrews; several great-nieces, nephews and cousins; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Randy and Nadine Forbes; his nephew and niece, Wesley and Megan Buckner; and his great-nephew, Caleb. A graveside service for family and friends will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Carl Grindstaff officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
