    Mrs. Laura M. Peters Bowers, 91, Rt. 2, Elizabethton, died Thursday morning, March 3, 1994 at the home of a grand-daughter, Jane Radford, Rt. 4, Elizabethton, following an extended illness. Mrs. Bowers was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Frank and JoAnn Archer Peters. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John C. Bowers in 1964, two daughters, Dimpler Farris in 1970 and Lula Mae Bowers in 1986, and by three grandchildren. Mrs. Bowers was a member of the Blue Springs Christian Church and a retired employee of Southern Cafe.

    Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Laura M. Peters Bowers, 91, Rt. 2, Elizabethton, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday from the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bowers Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday and at the homes of her daughters any time. Friends who wish may make donations in memory of Mrs Bowers to the American Cancer Society in care of Mrs. Alta Jane Caudill, P.O. Box 247, Elizabethton, Tenn., 37643. The family, friends, minister and pallbearers will meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.

    Rose Ella Bowers Hardin, 85, passed away peacefully the morning of May 6, 2023, in Pompano Beach, Fla., after a lengthy illness. She was born October 13, 1937, to the late John C. Bowers and Laura Peters Bowers in Carter County, Tenn. Rose was a 1954 graduate of Unaka High School. She worked in the restaurant and dietary industry throughout her professional career, including positions at Northside Hospital, Westside Elementary School, and T. A. Dugger Middle School. She was a member of Westside Christian Church. She was a life-long Elizabethton High School football fan and Tennessee Lady Vol basketball fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hardin, and five sisters, Lula Mae Bowers, Anna Belle Hardin, Ruth Pierce, Dora Carr and Dimple Farris. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Alexandra Hardin of Boston, Mass., and grandson, Elijah Hardin of Frisco, Texas. She is also survived by her niece, Inez Burton, and several other nieces and nephews.
