    Notes:

    Norma Carolyn Wills, age 88, of 922 Circle Drive, Mountain City, TN passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness.

    She was born August 7, 1926 to the late L. Karl Wills and Kate Phillips Wills.

    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters: Minerva McEwen and Katherine Snyder and two brothers: Gene Wills and John R. Wills.

    She enjoyed spending time gardening and farming, also canning and working in her flowers.

    She was member of JCHS class of 1945 and also attended ETSU. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at First United Methodist Church and attended First Baptist Church later in life.

    She was also awarded the Hometown Heroes Hall of Fame award in October 2014.

    Norma worked for the Johnson County School Board for 47 years from 1947 - 1992 and worked at the ASC office prior to that. She was part of the Retired Teachers Association.

    Survivors include sister-in-law: Winnie M. Wills of Townsend, DE; niece, Carolyn Gibison and husband John; nephews: Lewis A. Snyder and wife Karen of Johnson City, TN, Gene and wife Gail Wills of West Grove, PA, Karl Wills and wife Pam of Smyrna, DE and Jimmy Wills of NJ; and special friends: Bud McComas, Emily Millsaps, Geraldine Wallace, Mary Grindstaff, Nancy Wills and Wilma Smith.

    Services for Norma were held in the East Side Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Wills and Rev. Rickey Campbell officiating.

    Graveside service and interment were at Sunset Memorial Park.

    Honorary pallbearer was Bud McComas.

    Lewis "Abby" Snyder, 74, of Gray, TN passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018. Mr. Snyder was born in Banner Elk, NC on May 22, 1944, to the late Grant and Katherine Wills Snyder.

    Lewis was the Program Coordinator for the Tennessee Department of Human Services, from which he retired. Lewis enjoyed reading and watching TV in his spare time. His was an avid University of Tennessee Vols fan. He especially enjoyed watching Lady Vols Basketball. Lewis was a member of Munsey memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City, TN.

    Those left to cherish Lewis' memory include his wife of 39 yrs, Karen Snyder of the home, his son Jarrid Rollins, and wife Erica, of Flower Mound, TX; 2 grandchildren Hayden and Madison Rollins; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 maternal cousins, Gene Wills, Jimmy Wills, Karl Wills, and Carolyn Wills; 4 paternal cousins, Donna Abel, Karen Wisniesky, Patricia Reiter, and Joey Quinn; special friend Charles Ellis of Johnson City, TN.

    Services for Lewis Snyder will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, in the Charlie B. Hux Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Dickson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1pm – 2pm prior to the service. Graveside service and internment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Mountain City, TN.

    Active pallbearers will be Robert Wills, Donald Wills, Jarrid Rollins, Bud McComas, Dennis Wills and Jim Bell. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. John Whitlock.
