    Mrs. Margaret Stephens Manning, age 91, of Elizabethton, TN, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late William Warren (W.W.) and Celia Belle Teague Stephens. Mrs. Manning had built airplanes for the U.S. Navy and also worked at Yates Remnant Shop for twenty years. She enjoyed sewing and crafts. Mrs. Manning was a member of First Christian Church, Elizabethton, and the Fidelis Sunday School Class at First Christian Church. She worked in the Church nursery for several years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Cartha Chesser, Oscar Stephens, Ida Pate, William Stephens, Clara Kyte, Laura Kyte, Harold Stephens, Hazel Vanhuss, John Stephens, and an infant sister, Mary Ruth Stephens. Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Paul T. Manning, of the home; a daughter, Paula Manning, Elizabethton; a grandson, Marc Gibson and wife, Rachel, Charlotte, NC; a great-grandson, Ethan Gibson, Charlotte, NC; and special friends, Teresa Norris, Lanny Norris, Whitney Norris, Sara, Laban and Rilyn Propst and Randy and Patsy Tadlock. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Margaret Stephens Manning will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 21, 2013, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Dr. Don Marshall, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Gene Estep. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-3:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service or at the residence at other times. Interment will follow the service in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Steve Dunlap, Tim Broyles, Brad Shepherd, Dan Harding, Whitney Norris, Lanny Norris and Steve Shepherd. Honorary pallbearers will be her Church family.

    COOKEVILLE- Funeral services for Jessie Dayton Teague, 80, of Cookeville will be held Friday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Brother Eugene McCowan will officiate.

    Mr. Teague died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood.

    He was born March 30, 1918 in Johnson City to the late Oscar Lee and Laura Mae Sammons Teague. He was a retired maintenance man and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.

    His family includes daughter Helen Ball of Cookeville; son Harry Teague of Middletown, Ohio; two step daughters, Diane Koss of Canton, Mich., and Bevery Siekierka of Garden City, Mich.; three granddaughters, Tammy Bass of Cookeville, Raylene Daniels of Nashville, and Tina Teague of New York City, New York.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Davis Teague.

    Jasper James "Jake" Teague, 82, Blountville, Tennessee passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 in the Bristol Regional Hospital.
    He was born on September 18, 1932 in the Happy Valley Section of Carter County the youngest child of Oscar Lee & Laura Mae Sammons Teague.
    He was a graduate of Mary Hughes High School, Piney Flats. He was a retired Staff Sgt. From the Missile Command of the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran.
    He moved from St. Matthews, South Carolina to Blountville last July. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Verna Grace Dykes and Tina Nelma Woods both of Johnson City and his brothers: Jesse Dayton Teague of Livonia, Michigan, Everette Kyle Teague, Johnson City, Albert Brice Teague of Cleveland, Ohio and Orville Curtis Teague of Taylor, Michigan.
    He is survived by one sister-in-law: Kate Teague of Johnson City and a host of nieces & nephews.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
    The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the Tennessee National Guard.

    ELIZABETHTON - Leslie Thomas “Les” Head, 74, Elizabethton, passed away at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born in Elizabethton to the late John R. & Hattie Hill Head. Leslie attended Hampton High School. Everyone that knew Les knew he was a wheeler-dealer in cars. Les loved cars and camping. He was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Gene Head, Hannah Carter, Viola Morgan, Ernest Head and Ella Mae Jackson.

    Survivors include his wife of 42 years: Debbie Hughes Head. A Brother & Sister-In-Law: RL & Helen Head, A Sister-In-Law: Connie Hughes, Several nieces, nephews & cousins. His best friend: Gene Putman. Also his fur babies: Sadie, Jodee and Mia.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harvey White and Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday will be: Eddie Guinn, Billy Hodge, Scott Johnson, Brad Honeycutt, Billy Bowers, Freddy Julian, Keith Hughes and Lynn Humphrey. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Gene Putman, Dwight “Matterman” Birchfield, Grady Hill, Bill Vaught, Keith Bowers, Sr., Luther Norris, Bob McClain, Mike Blevins, Rick Whitehead and Harry “B” Crowe.
