    MILLARD GARFIELD HODGE
    Millard Garfield Hodge died at his home at Shouns, after an illness of 18 months.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the home, in charge of Rev. Howard Reese and Rev. Laurence Trivette. Burial will be made in the family cemetery.
    Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bessie Hodge, one son, Edgar Hodge; two grandchildren: Mary Lou and George Hodge; two brothers: Boone Hodge and A. L. Hodge, and three sisters: Mrs. Tolly[sic] May and Mrs. Lula Dunne of Trade, and Mrs. Maggie Maines of Shouns.

    Boone F. Hodge, age 81, Oxford, Pa., died in Cannon Memorial Hospital, Banner Elk, N.C., Sunday at 8:45 a.m. after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Johnson County, but had made his home in Oxford for the past 12 years. He was a retired farmer and member of the Christian Church.
    Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Annie V. Hodge, Oxford, Pa.; a son, William S.     Abraham Lincoln Hodge, age 74 of Mountain City died in Cannon Memorial Hospital, Banner Elk, N.C. Saturday at 10:55 p.m. after a 10-week illness. He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late Washington and Mary Mains Hodge; a farmer and businessman, a former (12 years) tax assessor of Johnson County; former school teacher and former member of the Johnson County Board of Education. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
    Survivors include[sic] the wife, Mrs. Clara A. Hodge, Mountain City; two sons, Gar Hodge and Sam Hodge, both Mountain City; five daughters, Venia Hodge, Faye Hodge, Mrs. Shirley Farmer, all Mountain City, Mrs. Bessie Jackson, Mrs. Pauline Slaughter, both Bristol; two sisters, Mrs. Pollie May, Trade, Mrs. Lucille Dunn, Mountain City; seven grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
    Funeral services conducted on Tuesday at the First Christian Church with H.T. Mabry and Rev. A.E. Brown officiating[sic]. The burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
    Pallbearers were Grady May, Butler Pennington, Ray May, Edd Hodge, Ode May, Joe Eller and Dick Mains. Flower bearers were ladies of the church and neighbors.

    Noah Alvin Isaac[sic] was born Oct. 27, 1875, at Mabel, N. C., and died. Jan. 9, 1946, at Glade Springs, Va., at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 13 days.
    He was united in marriage to Callie R. Stout on Jan. 7, 1900. She preceded him in death seven years ago.     Mr. Isaacs[sic] professed faith in Christ in 1925 and united with Forrest Grove Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his death. Surviving are the 16 children, 54 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.

Pardue, age 81 of Route 5, Mountain City, died Monday at 3:30 a.m. in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. he was a native of North Carolina but had made his home in Johnson County the greater part of his life. He was a son of the late William and Catherine Hodge Pardue, a retired farmer, and a member of the Rainbow Baptist Church. Pardue was preceded in death by a son, Luther Pardue, who died December 1, 1970.
    Survivors include the wife, Mollie M. Pardue of the home; two daughters, Miss Mae Pardue of the home; Mrs. Earlene Crowder of Mountain City; four sons, Charles Pardue, Mountain City; Clayton Pardue, Highpoint, NC; Roger Pardue, Mountain City, James Pardue, Mountain City; one sister, Mrs. Flossie P. Arnett, West Jefferson, NC, 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were conducted Wed., 2 p.m. from the Rainbow Baptist Church with Rev. J.D. Rash and Rev. Dwight Adams officiating. Burial followed in the Rainbow Cemetery. Music was under the direction of the Church Choir.
    Pallbearers were, Dave Pardue, Steve Pardue, Boyd Pardue, Edd Crowder, Darrell Crowder, and Mike Arnold. Flowerbearers were ladies of the church and friends and neighbors.

    Funeral services for Edgar E. Lowe, 39, of Route 3, Mountain City, who died in the Appalachian Hospital Tuesday night will be conducted from the Doe Valley Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 and the Rev. George Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be in the Brookshire Cemetery.
    Active pallbearers will be Harlow Crosswhite, Halton Robinson, James Oliver, N. W. Davis, George Robinson, and Karl Sharp.
    The body will be moved to the home Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of the Tetrick Funeral Home.

Ralph Snead and the Rev. George Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be in the Brookshire Cemetery.
