    Graveside services for Blannie Lucreta Ritchie Sams, 89, of Gilmer, Texas, are scheduled for 4:00 pm, Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Glenwood Cemetery, with Brother Wade Mayberry officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of McWhorter Funeral Home.
    Blannie was born on September 16, 1933, in Cardens Bluff, Tennessee, to James Clarence and Lucille Shaw Ritchie, and went to be with her Lord on December 7, 2022, in Longview, Texas.
    Blannie loved visiting and working with people where she never seemed to meet a stranger. She worked with her church at home and did foreign mission work in the Philippines and Brazil. She stayed in contact with the refugees and youth she helped. Blannie was a faithful member of Glenwood Baptist Church and a former member of East Mountain Baptist Church. She worked in the cafeteria at Pinetree ISD until her retirement.
    Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Phyllis Constantine (Jim), Douglas Sams (Deborah), David Sams, and Madalyn Sams Gunn; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
    She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, F. D. "Sam" Sams; sister, Shirley Williams; brother, Herbert Ritchie; and grandson, Brandon Sams.
    Pallbearers are Gordon Gunn, David Sams Jr., Daniel Sams, Luke Sams, Ben Sams, Zech Sams, Jason Gunn, Martin Sams, Austin Sams, Carlos Sams.
    Honorary pallbearers are Jim Constantine, Jim Williams, and Jimmy Williams.

    Notes:

    Shirley Louise Williams, 77, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, January 26, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness.
    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James & Lucille Shaw Ritchie. Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Hampton High School. She was a retired employee of American Air Filter. She was a member of the Unaka Baptist Church.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Herbert Ritchie.
    Shirley loved to play games, work puzzles and spend time with her grandchildren.
    Survivors include her husband of 59 years: James "Jim" Williams; A Son & Daughter-in-law: James "Jimmy" & Jackie Williams, Johnson City; Five Grandchildren: J.D. Williams and wife, Tracy, Drew Williams and wife, Crystal, Grant Meyer and his wife, Ariana, Kyle Zimmerman and Austin Zimmerman; Two Great Granddaughters: Sadie Williams and Emilia Meyer; One Great Grandson: Jeramiah Thomas; One Sister: Blannie Sams, of Texas; Several nieces & nephews.
    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Sherrill Dunn and Rev. Walker Roberson officiating.
    Graveside Service and Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Rev. Sherrill Dunn. Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Earl Campbell, Don & Jack Williams, Dr. J. & Staff.
