    Notes:

    JOHNSON CITY - Bill D. Garland, 78, Johnson City, went home to be with our Lord Sunday, February 2, 2020.

    A lifelong resident of Johnson City, he was the son of the late Clyde D. Garland and Mary E. Leonard Eggers.

    In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce McKinney Garland, and his brother, Clyde Garland, Jr.

    Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Christie Garland Elke (Darrin), of Knoxville, son, Chad Garland (Angela), of Johnson City, sister, Sharon Daniels (Bob), of Unicoi, his precious grandchildren: Colby Baker, Chance Baker (Emily), Kaylee Baker, Seth Garland, Kristin Elke; nieces and nephews: Julie Dugger (Scott) and their son Taw, Josh Daniels (Melanie) and their sons Ivan, Cohen, and Gideon, Cindy Simmons, Debbie Whitson, Greg Winters, and Pam Ward.

    Bill was a member and former deacon of Pinecrest Baptist Church. He served on the board at West Carter County Volunteer Fire Department. Bill retired from the Teamsters Local 549 Commercial Truck Driving after 55 years with Mason-Dixon and Henard Metal Fab, Inc. He enjoyed working on his farm, spending time with his grandchildren and friends riding ATV’s.

    The family will greet friends to share memories of Bill on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, he will be cremated.
