    Mrs. Helen "Mitzi" Toney, age 62, 134 Pinnacle Drive, Elizabethton, TN, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, October 25, 2013. A native of Washington County, TN, she was the daughter of the late John Jackson and Lethia Birchfield Cable.
    She received a diploma from the TN College of Applied Technology as an Administrative Assistant. Mrs. Toney was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church and she was a member of the National Guard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Christine Cable, Shirley Heaton and Ivalee Briggs; and three brothers, Bill Cable, Junior Cable and Kenneth Cable. Survivors include her husband, James Toney, of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth Toney Jones and husband, Michael Todd Jones, Jonesborough, TN; and three grandchildren, Ariella Jones, Aaron Jones and Mary Beth Jones, all of Jonesborough, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service for Mrs. Helen "Mitzi" Toney will be conducted at 8:00 PM Monday, October 28, 2013, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home Elizabethton with Pastor Kevin Holley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 29, 2013, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Todd Jones, Elizabeth Jones, James Toney, Mike Briggs, Mike Whitehead and Bill Barnett. Everyone will meet at Tetrick Funeral Home Elizabethton at 10:15 AM on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
