Tip Lewis Heaton, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at his residence.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Oliver & Irene Winters Heaton.

Mr. Heaton was a retired Millwright from Daniel Construction Company. He was a member of the Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge # 566.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Fred, Luther and Bob "Pete" Heaton and three sisters: Bertie Roark, Gladys Barnett and Lucy Miller.

Survivors include his wife of sixty three years: Dorothy Mitchell Heaton. Three Sons & Daughters-In-Law: Ronnie & Judy Heaton, Elizabethton, Jerry & Donna Heaton, Hampton and Robert& Sherri Heaton, Roan Mountain. His Grandchildren & Their spouses: Wendy & Bill Winters, Elizabethton, Jamie & Dina Heaton, Mission Viejo, California and Alex Heaton, Roan Mountain. His Great Grandchildren: Dustin Winters, Jacob Winters, Thomas "Tomo" Heaton and Grace Heaton. Several nieces & nephews. His special traveling buddy, Donna Tipton, his special back porch buddy, Larry Miller, his brother & sister-in-law: J.L. & Jean Troutman & family, his special cat "Roho".

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence.

ELIZABETHTON - Jean Crain, of Elizabethton, took her Savior's hand and stepped out into eternity on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from the Johnson City Medical Center.

Jean was a native of Carter County and was a daughter of the late Clifton and Bertha Heaton Roark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Faye Nave.

Jean was a former employee of Sperry Univac and was the former owner and operator of Erwin's Floral and Gift Shop in Roan Mountain. She was a member of Doe River Baptist Church, where she served on various committees. Jean loved flowers, being home with her family and her dogs, but especially loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 61 years, Delaney Crain, of the home; a son, Kelly Crain and wife Teresa, of Elizabethton; twin daughters, Connie Bowery and husband Tony and Caren Hill and Grady, all of Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Whitney James and husband Ben, Dylan Hill and fiancé Emily Street and Cameron Crain, all of Elizabethton; two great grandchildren, Marlee Faith James and Gracie Jean James, both of Elizabethton; her sisters, Shirley Johnson and Judy Heaton and husband Bill, all of Roan Mountain and Sandy Miller and husband Larry, of Elizabethton; one brother, Larry Roark and wife Joan, of Roan Mountain. Several nieces and nephews, along with her special friend, Sue Hamm, also survive.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Jean Crain will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Hawk, Rev. Daniel Fink and Rev. Ben James, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Sue Hamm. Active pallbearers will be Cameron Crain, Dylan Hill, Ted Walsh, Kenny Johnson, Kyle Heaton and Tony Bowery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Doe River Baptist Church, friends and neighbors.

Vickie R. Hughes, 71, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord and her daughter Tiffany, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Vickie was born in Banner Elk, N.C., to the late Ivan and Lucy Heaton Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tiffany Holdren, and a sister, Bobbie McKinney.
Vickie was a cook and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. She liked to watch westerns, reading and loved her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Tabby Hampton of Roan Mountain; four granddaughters, Payton Johnson, Madelyn Johnson and Madison Johnson, all of Roan Mountain, and their father Johnny, and Chloe Holdren and her father John of Newland; and two sisters, Donna Gray and husband Perry of Roan Mountain and Diana Marshall of Morristown. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Vickie R. Hughes will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, February 18, in the Miller Cemetery in Roan Mountain, Tenn., with Rev. Randy English officiating. Mr. Aaron Gray will provide a eulogy. Special singing will be provided at the graveside. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Monday. The family would like to especially thank the ICU Staff and Megan Vaught for their excellent care and kindness during this difficult time.

HAMPTON - Jerry Keith Heaton, 63, Hampton went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Sept.29, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville with his family by his side.

Born December 19, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland, he had lived most of his life in Tennessee. He was a 1973 graduate of Cloudland High School. He was a member of Roan Mountain Lodge. He was of the Baptist Faith. Jerry was preceded in death by his father; Tip Heaton.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 31 years: Donna Pierce Heaton. His Mother: Dorothy Heaton, Two Brothers: Ronnie (Judy) Heaton, niece: Wendy and nephew Jamie, Robert (Sherri) Heaton and nephew Alex. Father & Mother-In-Law: Ralph & Kay Pierce. Two Sisters-in-Law: Debbie (Randy) Payne and Nephew: Michael & Diana (Dean) Maxwell. His special friends: Sandy & Jr. Tolley, Tara & Ronnie Crum, Billy & Dale Greene, Keith Tipton, Steve & Donna Tipton, Debbie & Rick Ricker, Nancy, Toby, Connie Wells, James Gouge, Lug & Kim Wells, Dennis & Jill Panther, Johnny & Moo Eaker, Bobbi & Hillbilly Wilson, Gwen Sprinkle, Vicki Adkins and all of his bluegrass and camping friends and all his C0-workers from Eastman.

Entombment Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 in the Mausoleum of Faith, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Thursday will be; Billy Greene, Alex Heaton, Michael Payne, Steve Tipton, Junior Tolley and Ronnie Crum.
