    Notes:

    Betty Ruth McQueen Vaughn, age 74, of Greeneville, formerly of Elizabethton, stepped into Heaven on Monday, September 18, 2017 at her home place in Elizabethton. Betty was born in Carter County on March 13, 1943 to the late Harry E. and Ollie M. Caudill McQueen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ray Vaughn in 2007; and a grandson, Matthew Vaughn Wills, in 2015.

    Betty retired from Phillips Consumer Electronics and was of the Baptist faith. She was a 1961 graduate of Elizabethton High School, was a former member of the Ladies of the Moose, and a former member of Youth Builders of Greeneville. She enjoyed flower gardening, ceramics, interior design and decorating, and caring for her pets.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kimberly Vaughn Russell and husband Rick, of Greeneville; two sisters, Shirley Rambo, and Mary Davis and her husband Merrill, all of Elizabethton; two brothers, Kyle McQueen, of Elizabethton and Samuel Lee McQueen and wife Helen, of Poplar, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    A service to honor the life of Betty Ruth McQueen will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 21, 2017 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Roger Crigger, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday; or at her home place at any time.

    The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Glen McQueen, David McQueen, Cameron McQueen, Ethan McQueen, Richard Carter, Ryne Carter and Devin Carter.
