Mol-lie Hol-lo-way Har-ris Street, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Sun-day, April 5, 2015, at the Center on Aging in Er-win.
She was a na-tive of Bee Log, NC, and daugh-ter of the late Rever-end Moss "Poppy" Hol-lo-way and Lora Tol-ley Hol-lo-way. Mol-lie was af-fec-tion-ately known by most peo-ple as "Mother."
In ad-di-tion to her par-ents, she was pre-ceded in death by her hus-bands, Paul Har-ris and H.P. Street; sis-ters and broth-ers: Harry, Al-ford and Haru Hol-lo-way, Myr-tle Phil-lips, Essie Vanover and Lula At-kins.
Those left to cher-ish Mol-lie's mem-ory in-clude her daugh-ters: Jan-ice King and hus-band, Frank, Shir-ley Hardin and hus-band, Buddy, Robyn Gil-len-water and hus-band, Billy; son, Roger Har-ris and wife, Bar-bara; grand-chil-dren: Greg King, Jeff King, Alan King, Tammy Hardin Am-brose, Mi-chael Hardin, Paul Har-ris, Wil-liam Har-ris, Isaac Har-ris, Hunter Smith, Eli Smith; great-grand-chil-dren: Logan, Con-nor, Ga-briel, Rilie, Ke-nedy, Caleb, Gracie, Jor-dan, Lyn-say, Cameron, Tay-lor, Chan-dler; step-sons: Bobby Street, Rich-ard Street, Roger Street; step-grand-chil-dren: Shay, Max, Han-nah and Ja-cob Street, Ni-cole Bur-ris, Adam Gil-len-water; step-great-grand-son, Jo-shua Bur-ris; sev-eral nieces and neph-ews.
The fam-ily will greet friends to share mem-o-ries on Fri-day start-ing at 5:00 PM un-til a Cel-e-bra-tion of Life Ser-vice at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Val-ley Funeral Home in Er-win and other times at her daugh-ter, Robyn Gil-len-water's home. Dr. Alan King (grand-son) and Pas-tor Tim Broyles will of-fi-ci-ate with mu-sic pro-vided by Rever-end Harold McNabb.
A Grave-side and Com-mit-tal Ser-vice will be held in Ever-green Ceme-tery on Satur-day at 1:30 PM. Grand-sons will serve as ac-tive pall-bear-ers with great-grand-sons serv-ing as hon-or-ary pall-bear-ers. Ev-ery-one is asked to meet at the fu-neral home by 1:00 PM to go in pro-ces-sion to the cem-e-tery.

Notes:

Mrs. Velva Edwards Ramsey, age 88 of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 8, 1927 in Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Braskie and Lula Elizabeth Tolly Edwards. Velva was a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and was known and loved for her tremendous faith. She had an immeasurable impact on her entire family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Ramsey, a brother, Ray Edwards and a grandson, Anthony Yates.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are children, Johnny Yates (Phoebe) of Johnson City, TN, Mike Ramsey, Linda Parker (Leonard), Diane Ray (Jack), Benny Ramsey (Carol) and Terry Ramsey (Kathy), all of Marion; siblings, Lora Adkins (Raymond), S.J. Edwards (Edith), both of Marion, Estell Edwards (Charlotte) of Alta Pass, Coy Edwards (Joyce), Harmon Edwards (Jean) and Floyd Edwards (Cora), all of Erwin, TN. Twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a special friend and cousin, Carolyn Ledford also survive.

A funeral service in honor of Velva's life will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Dr. Tom Walker, Robert Vance and Matt Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the church.

Estal Edwards, age 82, of Altapass Highway in Spruce Pine died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home.
Born on December 30, 1933 in Yancey County, he was the son of the late Braskie and Lula Tolley Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother; Ray Edwards and a sister; Velva Ramsey.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of forty-six years; Charlotte Biddix Edwards of the home; his daughters; Patsy Edwards of Spruce Pine and Jennifer Clem and husband, Joel of Wilmington, NC; his sons; Sean Edwards of Spruce Pine and Jonathan Edwards and wife, Amy of Nebo.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Estal Edwards on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Sunday, January 31 from 1:00 pm until the service hour in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the McKinney Gap Cemetery.

ERWIN - We are saddened to announce the passing of Coy Edwards, age 86, of Erwin TN. Coy gained his heavenly wings on Sunday, December 18, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Coy was born in Yancey Co, NC to Braskie Edwards and Lula (Tolley) Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Coy was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. His greatest joy was taking his grandchildren camping and creating cherished memories with them. Coy loved working on classic cars and bicycles and restored many of them over the years. He also enjoyed going to classic car shows. He was employed by Summers-Taylor, Inc. for 40 years, from which he retired in 2001. He was a member of Mountain Dale Free Will Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce Edwards of Erwin, TN; three loving children including two daughters, Mitzi Edwards of Jonesborough TN , Kimberly Edwards Ritchings and her husband Kirk Ritchings of Charlotte N.C.; son, Jeff Edwards of Johnson City, TN ; four grandchildren, Laurel Edwards, Ben Edwards, Gabe Ritchings and Maggie Ritchings; brother, S.J. Edwards of Marion, NC and several nieces and nephews.

It was Coy’s wishes to be cremated and no formal service held. There will be a celebration of his life held at a later date.

Harmon Edwards, age 77, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mr. Edwards was a native of Yancey County, NC and a son of the late Braskie and Lula Tolley Edwards. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Superintendent and served as a Deacon. He logged for 30+ years and he liked to restore old cars.In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by brothers Ray Edwards and Estil Edwards and sister Velva Ramsey.

Reverend Harold Lewis and Reverend Steve Sparks will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 2:30 PM and continue until service time on Sunday at Faith Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11:00 PM at Tinker Cemetery. Those attending will meet at Faith Baptist Church at 10:30 to go in procession. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Royce Tolley, age 76, of Erwin passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Center on Aging and Health. A native of Ramseytown, NC, Royce is a son of the late Malley and Etta (Garland) Tolley. He attended Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church and loved children and helping his neighbors and those less fortunate. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and fishing. In addition to his parents, Royce is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Gloria Dean (Whitson) Tolley; granddaughter, Tabitha Bumgardner; 4 sisters, 2 brothers and many special friends.
