Roy Lee Troutman Sr., 85, 189 Hwy. 143, Roan Mountain, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Elizabethton.
Mr. Troutman was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Hezekiah and Della Heaton Troutman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hughes Troutman, January 28, 1999, a daughter, Dorothy T. Hughes, and a granddaughter, Toni Young Vess.
Mr. Troutman attended Victory Baptist Church. He was retired as owner/operator of the Phillips 66 Service Station in Roan Mountain.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and C.L. Young, Minneapolis, N.C., Billie and LeRoy Gray, Greeneville, and Ruth Ann and Terry Tipton, Johnson City; a son, Roy Lee Troutman Jr., Roan Mountain; four brothers, Guy Troutman, Hampton, J.L. Troutman and Jack Troutman, both of Roan Mountain, and Ralph Troutman, Elizabethton; and two sisters, Edith Troutman Street and Willie Troutman Barnett, both of Roan Mountain. Six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain, with the Rev. Jerry Honeycutt and the Rev. Jim McMahan officiating. The family received friends at the funeral home from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the home place in the Burbank community. Interment followed the funeral service in the Troutman Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Jonathan Gray, Brady Hughes, Allen Hughes, Terry Tipton, Mark Vess and Ray Heaton. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Marlowe, Robbie Stout, Richard Avery, LeRoy Gray and C.L. Young.

Roy married Ruth Hughes on 27 Dec 1936 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Jack Troutman, 84, of the Burbank Community of Roan Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 21, 2017, from the Johnson City Medical Center. Jack was born in the Burbank Community of Roan Mountain on February 21, 1933 to the late Hez and Delia Heaton Troutman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jess, Roy, Guy and Ralph Troutman, and one sister, Edith Street.
Jack graduated from Cloudland High School in 1951 and retired from Summers Taylor after 35 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean War and he faithfully attended Burbank Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Willie Winters Troutman, of the home; one brother, J.L. Troutman, of Roan Mountain; one sister, Willie Troutman Barnett, of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor the life of Jack Troutman will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, in the Troutman Family Cemetery, in the Burbank Community of Roan Mountain, with Pastor Richard Blevins officiating. Music will be provided by the Johnson Family. Active pallbearers will be Jack's nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Burbank Freewill Baptist Church.

Willie Mae Barnett, 96, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, from Hermitage Health Care in Elizabethton, following a brief illness. Willie was born on August 3, 1923 in Roan Mountain to the late Hezekiah "Hezzie" and Delia Heaton Troutman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman D. Barnett; her brothers, Jessie Troutman, Roy Troutman, Guy Troutman, Jack Troutman and Ralph Troutman; and one sister, Edith Troutman Street.
Willie graduated from Cloudland High School and worked as a substitute teacher at Burbank School. She worked and retired from Carter County School Systems as a cook. She enjoyed reading her Bible, old shows on TV, sight-seeing, and having her family around her.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Shirley Street and husband J.D., of Gray, and Janet Largent and husband Clarence, of Hampton; a son, Larry Barnett and wife Betty, of Roan Mountain; one brother, Joseph Lewis Troutman and wife Jean, of Roan Mountain; one sister-in-law, Willie Troutman; six grandchildren, Timothy S. Street and wife Karen, Todd S. Street and wife Rebecca, Timothy W. Barnett and wife Shelia, Tracy D. Barnett, Travis K. Largent and wife Debbie and Tandy M. Bradley; and nine great-grandchildren, Seth S. Street, Alexandria Street, Riley L. Barnett, Kailey P. Phillips, Kaydance M. Barnett, Kade Barnett, Brieanna Largent, Haley Largent and Chloe E. Bradley.
A graveside service to honor the life of Willie Mae Barnett will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 26, in the Troutman Cemetery in Roan Mountain with Rev. Randy English officiating. Music will be under the direction of her granddaughter, Tandy Bradley. Her grandson, Tim Barnett, will recite the 23rd Psalm. Active pallbearers will be Tim Street, Todd Street, Tim Barnett, Travis Largent, Tracy Barnett and Seth Street. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Burbank Free Will Baptist Church.

Guy N. Troutman, age 89, of Hampton, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mr. Troutman was a native of Carter County and was a son of the late Hezekiah "Hez" and Delia Heaton Troutman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Street; and two brothers, Jess and Roy Troutman.

Mr. Troutman retired from Sperry Corporation and was an active member of Rittertown Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years and served on many Pulpit Committees throughout the years. He was a United States Army veteran and was instrumental in rebuilding many roads in Germany during his service time from 1950-1952. He loved being outdoors and enjoying nature.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of over 60 years, Deloris Smith Troutman, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Debbie Troutman, of Hampton; three brothers, Ralph, J.L. and Jack Troutman; one sister, Willie Barnett; two grandchildren, Allison Hill, of Hampton, and Cyndie Morelock, of Rogersville, TN; three great grandchildren, Izaak and Avery Hill, and Teagan Morelock. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Guy N. Troutman will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Rittertown Baptist Church, 822 Rittertown Road, Hampton, with Rev. Dean Smith, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the church, prior to the service on Friday.

The graveside service will follow in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Stout, officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Rittertown Baptist Church.

Joseph Lewis “J.L.” Troutman, 91, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, from his residence. J.L. was born June 14, 1929 in Roan Mountain to the late Hezekiah T. Troutman and Delia Heaton Troutman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Stanley, and his brothers and sisters.
J.L. retired from Overnite Transportation after 38 years of service and was a member of St. John Freewill Baptist Church in Roan Mountain. J.L. was a member of the Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge #566.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 69 years, Jean Mitchell Troutman, of the home; his daughters, Kathy Henson and husband Arland and Donna Burleson; his grandchildren, Erica Crouse and husband Billy, Abbey Henson-Ives and husband Daniel and Andrew Henson; a great-granddaughter, Penelope Rae Ives; several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Dorthy Heaton and Willie Troutman.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of J.L. Troutman will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, in the Johnson Roan View Cemetery in Roan Mountain with Rev. Randy English and Pastor Wesley Duncan officiating. Active pallbearers will be Arland Henson, Andrew Henson, Daniel Ives, Billy Crouse, Robert Heaton and Ronnie Heaton. ELIZABETHTON - Ralph H. Troutman, age 81, of Elizabethton, TN, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016, in the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Troutman was born in Carter County, TN, and was the son of the late Hezekiah and Deliah Heaton Troutman. He was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Troutman; three brothers, Guy, Roy and Jess Troutman and one sister, Edith Street. He worked at Sperrys Univac for 25 years and retired from Smith-Cline. He was a member of the Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church, was a veteran of the United States Army and was also a member of the Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge #566. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, his grandchildren were the love of his life.

Those left to cherish his memory include, his wife Billie Blackwell Troutman, of the home; one son, Chris Troutman and his wife Stephanie, of Charlotte NC; three grandchildren, Virginia Page Troutman, Donna Lea Troutman and William Briggs Troutman; two brothers, Jack Troutman and his wife Willie, of the Burbank Community in Roan Mountain, J.L Troutman and his wife Jean, of the Burbank Community in Roan Mountain; one sister, Willie Barnett, of Hampton; one sister-in-law, Dorris Troutman, of Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends in the Tetrick Funeral Home Fireside Room, Elizabethton, from 12:00 PM- 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.

A graveside service to honor the life of Mr. Ralph H. Troutman will be conducted at 1:30 PM Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Mark Potter officiating. Active pallbearers will be Anthony Troutman, Craig Fair, Arlan Henson, Keith Blackwell, Brent Blackwell, Eddie Blackwell, Steve Dyer, Less Tolley. Roy Lee “Tim” Troutman Jr., 60, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24, 2020, at his residence. Roy was born in Banner Elk, N.C., to the late Roy Lee Troutman Sr. and Ruth Hughes Troutman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Troutman Hughes; a niece, Toni Vess; a nephew, Brady Lee Hughes; and a brother-in-law, C.L. Young.
Roy worked in construction and was a member of First Baptist Church in Roan Mountain. He had earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Art at ETSU and he loved photography.
Those left to cherish his memory include three sisters, Billie Gray (Leroy) of Greeneville, Patricia Young of Roan Mountain and Ruth Ann Tipton (Terry) of Johnson City; a daughter, Heather Hampton of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; and his girlfriend, Mary Parker of Roan Mountain and her children and grandchildren.
A graveside service to honor the life of Roy Lee “Tim” Troutman Jr. will be conducted at noon Monday, January 27, in the Troutman Family Cemetery in the Burbank Community of Roan Mountain with Mr. Allen Hughes officiating. Wilma Love Blackwell, 81, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away at Hermitage Health Center on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. Wilma was born in Carter County to the late William and Edith (Troutman) Street. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Henry Blackwell.
Wilma retired from Elizabethton Glass Company and had previously worked at East Tennessee Mills. She attended Burbank Free Will Baptist Church and was a loving woman who would rather give than to receive. She loved spending time with her grandson, Cole. Wilma was an excellent cook and was always smiling. She enjoyed shopping and traveling.
Left to cherish her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Tabitha Blackwell, and a grandson, Cole Blackwell, all of Elizabethton. Several brothers and sisters also survive.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Wilma Love Blackwell will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 4, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Luther McKeehan, a family friend, officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

Larry Dean Barnett, 74, of Roan Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center. Larry was born to the late Norman Dallas and Willie Troutman Barnett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Waits and Julia Barnett; maternal grandparents, Hez and Delia Troutman; and several aunts and uncles.
Larry was a member of Burbank Freewill Baptist Church. He retired from Charles A. Cannon Hospital. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5 until 7 p.m. The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Troutman Forbes Cemetery, Roan Mountain, Tenn. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Tim Street, Todd Street, Travis Largent, Rob Miller, James Boone and Larry Gouge.
